Height, length, and athletic ability are a huge part of basketball. That’s probably the easiest statement I can ever make. It’s always nice to be a 6-foot-5 guard or 6-foot-9 forward in high school.

However, that is not always the case. The following are some of the best prospects I saw that fits the criteria.

Brandon Gilgeours - Chaminade - Madonna

2022 Brandon Gilgeours should be a huge factor next season for Chaminade-Madonna. The Lions are set to graduate five players that played significant minutes. The 6-foot point guard averaged 12.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists on 45 percent shooting from the floor. Gilgeours was instant offense for Chaminade-Madonna with 46 made 3-pointers. Moreover, he knocked down three or more from the perimeter in nine games. He is also a great free-throw shooter at 90 percent. His productivity should increase with the aforementioned losses.

Jayden Pressey - Martin County

The Tigers will need a player to step up with the loss of [player_tooltip player_id="1139482" first="Nathan" last="Mikkelson"] (12.7 ppg/9.7 rpg) to graduation. One of the guys to do it could be Jayden Pressey. The 5-foot-10 point guard averaged 6.2 points per game on 41 percent shooting from the floor. I would like to see him tick that percentage up a bit when given the opportunity to score. Martin County has a great player in 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="829398" first="Ryan" last="Davis"] that can handle the primary offensive load. Pressey scored in double-figures in four games, including a 16-point effort against Forest Hill on 6-of-10 from the floor. He also knocked down a steady 33 percent of his 3-point attempts. The opportunity for Pressey to increase his role is certainly in front of him. The Tigers went 21-1 with him in the fold this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="829407" first="Kamdyn" last="Ayers"] - Western

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="829407" first="Kamdyn" last="Ayers"] is a nice playmaking guard out of Western in Davie. The 6-foot captain averaged 8.1 points and 4.2 assists across 21 games for the Wildcats. Ayers scored in double-figures seven times and dished out five or more assists in ten games. With three seniors graduating, Ayers and 2022 Landon Boggus will be the Wildcats lead returning scorers. Western went 14-8 before losing to Dwyer in the Class 7A final four this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="829412" first="Andre" last="Bynum"] - Miami High

The Stingarees will have the colossal task of replacing 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="818705" first="Taderrius" last="Davis"]. The 6-foot-7 wing was a walking triple-double for Miami High. 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="829412" first="Andre" last="Bynum"] could ease some of the burden with a big senior season. The 5-foot-9 point guard averaged 12.6 points, 5.8 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game. Bynum is a speedster that can take advantage of his opponents with his quickness. I would like to see him shoot the ball better, but there is talent here. Against Westminster Christian, Bynum scored 19 points and had 8 assists on 8-of-13 from the field.

[player_tooltip player_id="812625" first="Jermaine" last="Hunter"] - Jupiter Christian

Who replaces the production from 2021’s [player_tooltip player_id="818946" first="RJ" last="Morris"] and [player_tooltip player_id="818951" first="Sean" last="Louisaint"]? One of the guys that has an opportunity to step up is [player_tooltip player_id="812625" first="Jermaine" last="Hunter"]. The 5-foot-10 guard averaged 5.8 points, 5.8 assists and 4.9 rebounds this season for the Eagles. Moreover, he dished out six or more assists in ten games. Hunter will have nice options in 2022’s [player_tooltip player_id="956782" first="Conner" last="Weston"] and [player_tooltip player_id="709217" first="Jeremiah" last="Augustin"] to throw the ball to as well.
