Anthony Walcott / 5’9 / Guard / Handles Elite E1T1 2027 / Abundant Life Christian Academy (Margate, FL)

Make no mistake about it; Anthony was perhaps the most talented player in the 2027 class. He was virtually unstoppable off the bounce as he lived in the paint, and when defenders backed off him, he showed that he could score from behind the arc. He has a complete scoring package. He was one of the more skilled scoring guards that I saw at the tourney. I have seen him several times before, and every time I have seen him, I have witnessed his progression, which you should be able to see with a player at this age. Give credit to his coaches and trainers, as his game has continued to improve over the past 5 months. One thing about Anthony that may go unnoticed is his activity on the defensive end that turns defense into offense for himself and his teammates.
He has a very good road ahead of him as long as he continues to put in the work to improve.
I am sure you will be seeing more written up on him over the next several months. He is ahead of the curve in many areas, but as with all kids at this age, there are lessons that need to be learned on how to play the game in certain situations that all kids at this age must learn, including Anthony.
Tegan Jallick / 5’8 / Shooting Guard / Flight Team 2027 / Mercer Elementary (Cincinnati OH)
Instagram: teagzjallick_12
Tegan came ready to play at the Music City Premiere tourney. He is a highly skilled guard that can score in various ways. In the old saying, he scores at all three levels. His floater game was extremely impressive. He had a nice pace to his game to be so young. He didn’t allow himself to get in a rush, instead, he controlled his pace, which controlled the pace of the game for his team. You can tell he was one of the Alpha males on his team. Tegan is definitely a player to keep an eye on the rest of this spring/summer and over the next 2 years to get a better gauge of his years to come.
Demari Bailey / 5’3 / Combo Guard / Georgia Stars 2026 / Carver Road Middle School (Griffin GA)
Instagram: mari_workhardstayhumble
Tournament: Battle of The Magic City
If you did not witness anything else when it came to Demari’s game, you saw that he is a player that competes on both ends of the court. The tools in his toolbox were on full display as he was one of the most difficult covers in the 2026 class at the Battle of the Magic City. He kept defenders on skates with his deceptive handles. He can get it done on all parts of the court. One of the best Iso Scorers I saw in his age division. I was really impressed that he did not take plays off but put in just as much work on the defensive end as he did on the offensive end. I like that mindset because you can see that he understands the importance of hard work on both ends of the court.
He was one of the most complete guards at the tournament for his age.
His maturation will be one to watch as he has a lot of potential and a lot of physical attributes to work with.
Kohlman Dutton / 6’1 / Combo Guard / JL3 Battle 2025 / Woodcreek Middle School (Humble TX)
Instagram: _justahooper
Tournament: Battle of The Magic City
Kohlman has good size at the wing spot. He thrives in transition as he gets downhill when the ball is in his hands. He runs the court hard on the wing, and when he gets the ball in his hands, he knows how to finish in transition. He has the skillset to switch over to the lead guard spot but was more effective when I watched him at the shooting guard spot. Playing off the ball seemed to be his strength as he likes getting out in transition. He was a little stagnant in the offense when it slowed down into the half-court, but allow me to say that his play in the half-court was only viewed in one game, and there could have been factors unbeknownst to me that his coach was trying to accomplish in their execution. So, I will see more of Kohlman’s game as I see him over the next couple of months.
Caleb Holt / 6’4 / Combo Guard / Open Court 2025 / Buckhorn Middle School (New Market AL)
Instagram: Iam_caleb_holt
Tournament: Battle of The Magic City
If you have been around middle school basketball and watch those that cover it, you have more than likely heard the name, Caleb Holt. Well, whatever you have read that speaks of how good Caleb is on the hardwood….believe it. He is a 2026 kid that played with Open Court 2025 and was extremely dominant. One of the most talented players in the entire tournament. His game was on full display, as it was apparent he came to, as Jay Z said, ‘Allow me to re-introduce myself.’ In case we forgot because of the absence from the game due to Covid, Caleb refreshed our minds quickly. In the open court, when he is in attack mode, and you are defending him, 9 times out of 10, you are about to get punished.
He is highly athletic and will be whiteboard material in coaches’ offices if he stays the course and keeps developing.
Speaking of developing, Caleb still has to become more consistent with the J. Now, as I always do, let me put this disclaimer out here, that Caleb might be consistent with the J, but the times I saw him, it is definitely the area that is an opportunity area with his game.
JaMarcus Johnson / 5’6 / Shooting Guard / Harris Athletics 2026 / Lake Park Baptist (Riviera Beach FL)
Instagram: JaMarcus_360
Tournament: Prep Hoops Next Rumble Under the Palms
Let me start off by saying, if I was writing about the Sniper School, then JaMarcus would be a consideration to have his picture as the representative of the article. As Dick Vitale would say, ‘He can shoot the rock BABY!’ He is extremely confident from behind the trey and is an asset in catch-and-shoot situations. The question that I am in pursuit of an answer to is, ‘what else is in the toolbox?’ I am sure that there is more in the toolbox, but I could not witness it during my time of watching his game. Make no mistake about it, he played to his strength, and players were not making adjustments, so why not let it fly. However, I do want to see when I see him again what part of his game does he go to when the three is not falling, or defenders are not helping off of him.
Tre’von Jason Torchon / 6’0 / Combo Guard / Chandler Parsons 2025 / Impact Christian Academy (Jacksonville FL)
Instagram: la_.tre
Tournament: Prep Hoops Next Rumble Under The Palms
In a tourney with so many good players at the wing spot, it is easy to overlook a player or two, but that was not the case with Tre’von. Tre’von is a gifted player with a lot of potential. He had a good handle, solid footwork, and the ability to create his shot off the bounce. He has the normal tendencies of what a high-level wing player would have one year away from their freshman year in high school. He plays with a tremendous amount of confidence and is a playmaker. In spite of having a plethora of tools in his toolbox, his game is still developing, which raises the bar on the caliber player that he can develop into. His energy and intuitive nature is something that I would like to see transfer over to the defensive side of the court.
Tre’von has an opportunity to be one of those players I have been talking about, that the State of Florida will be pushing out over the next few years.
The basketball world needs to really keep its eyes on the state of Florida in the upcoming years, and while at it, keep your eyes on Tre’von.
