It so happens that I caught three 16U teams from the middle of the state all in succession. COMO-TNT, Missouri Elite and Mid-Mo Elite all have quality teams with good players to track for the next couple of years. Here is a look at those three teams.
COMO-TNT
They are deep and athletic and they like to play fast. They have two bullish point guard in 5’11 Courtland Simmons and 5’8 Tay Patrick Tay Patrick 5'8" | PG Battle | 2023 State MO . Both are strong and can penetrate and shoot. Walker Gohring Walker Gohring 6'0" | CG Fulton | 2023 State MO has a nice 3-point stroke while 6’0 2024 Kenny Jackson is a slashing young guard who excels in the transition game.
COMO-TNT is just as talented up from with 6’6 power forward Colby Lancaster Colby Lancaster 6'6" | PF Fulton | 2023 State MO inside. He has a big body and a lot of athleticism. 6’5 James Bennett is a long and lanky jumping back with a big upside while 6’3 Donovan Wiegal is a fine all-purpose player. On this night, the team was without 6’5 Justin Goolsby Justin Goolsby 6'4" | SF Battle | 2023 State MO , who was at his high school prom. He is a very talented forward with a high motor.
Missouri Elite
Missouri Elite turned some heads last week when they won the Gateway All-American Tournament in St Louis. They have a nice pair of guards in 6’1 Brady Bowers Brady Bowers 6'1" | PG Rock Bridge | 2023 State MO and 6’2 Jack Hajicek. Bowers is a excellent 3-point shooter who can handle the ball and pass it. Hajicek loves to get downhill and stays in attack mode.
The frontcourt combination of 6’9 Kanyon Hummel Kanyon Hummel 6'9" | PF Rock Bridge | 2023 State MO and 6’5 Ethan Wiley Ethan Wiley 6'5" | PF Battle | 2023 State MO is tough to deal with. Hummel is improving by the day with his ability to score and rebound inside. Wiley is a big bodied power forward who is a tremendous rebounder. They work well as a tandem.
Mid Mo Elite
Mid Mo Elite has some very good frontcourt personnel where they can play inside-out very effectively. Cole Heller is a 6’5 forward with good moves and a nice touch inside while 6’7 Langden Kitchen Langden Kitchen 6'6" | PF Westran | 2023 State MO is a big whopper inside who uses his big body quite well.
Zach Henry Zach Henry 6'0" | PG Blair Oaks | 2023 State MO is a 6’0 guard who can really shoot it from 3-point range while 6’3 Kyle Eckhoff Kyle Eckhoff 6'3" | SG Lincoln | 2023 State MO is a versatile wing with good playmaking skills.
