He’s a high-level player standing at 6-foot-2-inches with great length for a point guard. High basketball IQ, quick decision-maker, unselfish, patient, and never forced his offense, he even showed great touch on his floaters, runners, and layups inside the lane and through traffic. Washington also had the court vision to find his open shooters when penetrating as well. Artreya Vaidya – Point Guard – Top Achievers Elite 2023
Top Achievers Elite point guard, Artreya Vaidya was a very smart decision-maker with the ball in hand, he never let the defense dictate what he should do, he didn’t force anything whether it was a shot, a dribble, or a pass. Very gifted passer with a good touch from both hands, can make most passes on the court but is great at putting the ball right in his teammates’ shooting pocket. Tight-controlled handle with a phenomenal ability to change speed and angles, defenders never knew which direction he’s going in. Especially in the open court where his speed and quickness with absolutely lethal. Artreya wasn’t just a game-changer with his distributing but he was also a bonafide bucket getter, coming up with a team-high of 26 points in a game on the final day of the tournament, showing a smooth jump shot, quick trigger release, good follow-through, and proving to be a deadly open shot jump shooter.
Max Ndiaye – Point Guard – Team United Texas Yellow 2023
Max Ndiaye was a big guard with great length and mobility, standing at 6-foot-4-inches, Ndiaye was a playmaker like no other, everything on the offensive end ran through him first, as he created offense for himself as well as the rest of the team, showing off his impressive court vision and his natural ability to run the offense with a certain type of flow that kept them moving and the defenses scrambling. Great looking jump shot for this lefty, his shooting form is consistent, and he gets a good elevation every time. Max had times where he could get a bucket at will by creating his own shot off the dribble for a pull-up jumper or shot within the lane. Max Ndiaye has the type of skill set that would allow him to lead a team in points, rebounds, and assists on any given day.
Isaiah Brewington – Point Guard – BYG Elite 2023
Strong, sturdily built point guard with a near college-ready body. Floor general, Isaiah Brewington showed terrific control of the offense and the pace of play. High-level court vision and playmaking skills, Brewington knew exactly how and where to get his teammates the ball, his ability to set up his shooters and scorers was a thing of beauty, even making sure to put his passes right on the money. With his mean combination of speed and handles, Brewington was capable of busting through any press defense that came his way, keeping defenders leaning and off-balance, creating several open layups and open spot-up three-point opportunities.
Nathan Moxam – Point Guard – Team F.O.E. Harris
Nathan Moxam was one of the purest passing threats the event had to offer. His court vision was phenomenal, Moxam had that rare ability to throw guys open, seeing everything and everyone at all times. Nathan made every pass imaginable, even through all sorts of traffic and moving pieces, Moxam always put the rock right where only his man could get it. One of, if not the, best passer throughout the Tune Up. Killer open court speed, whenever Moxam received the ball on a fastbreak it was incredibly tough to slow him down, and often the defense didn’t have an answer for it. His offense kept the score tight throughout the final game of day 2, he dropped 17 points with a handful of assists. One thing that was made clear to me is that Nathan Moxam will always be the most competitive player on the floor.
