Team Notes from Coach Bill Vincent:
“We will have an exciting hard-working team that will be looking to play an up-tempo style on both offense and defense. This team had many success stories last year but is even better assembled this year with the addition of new players that may be playing club for the first time or were playing up and age group in the past.”
Roster:
Comments from Coach Bill Vincent:
Porter Ihnen (2024) |6-4 G/F| Lennox – Ihnen quickly comes to mind as a player we will lean on to lead us. He played up an age group last summer with much success and we are excited to see him excel in his own age group. He comes to us from Lennox and is a versatile player that can play any position on the floor. We will lean on his experience not only as a Schooler but as a player that has already contributed at the varsity level at his high school.
Hudsyn Ruesink (2024) |6-1 F| Sioux Valley – He has experience on varsity and with playing in the Class A State Finals this season. Hudsyn brings a ton of energy and effort that the Schoolers will thrive from. Ruesink is a spark plug.
Alec Squires (2024) |6-9 F| Sioux Valley – A player with varsity experience and he played in the Class A State Finals this season. Alec has a ton of size that will help the Schoolers by protecting the rim and dominating on the boards.
Tyan Buus (2024) |5-9 G| Sturgis – A guard with a lot of quickness and toughness. He has varsity experience at the AA level playing for his father at Sturgis. He will have a great AAU season. He loves to guard, work hard, and has a great IQ of the game.
Kaden Fast (2024) |6-1 G| De Smet – A State Champion who plays at De Smet. They won the State B Championship this year. He will provide quickness and toughness to the Schoolers. Kaden is a smooth guard.
Jayce Slaba (2024) |5-6 G| Hanson – He is another quick guard for the Schoolers. Slaba is a knock-down shooter. His ability to hit perimeter jump shots will draw attention from defenders and help spread the floor.
Ryan Larson Ryan Larson 6'3" | SG Jamestown | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-3 G| Jamestown – He will make an immediate impact with his ability to score in multiple ways. On the D side, he is willing to defend with the best of them. For his young age, he is already a capable shooter from the outside. I like his finishing ability.
Garret Mertens (2024) |6-2 G| Milbank – Mertens is an effective 3-point and midrange shooter. He can also put the rock on the floor and slash efficiently to the basket.
Colton Edberg (2024) |6-0 G| Centerville – He is skilled at penetrating gaps and scoring around the basket. Colton can also knock down shots from the outside.
Isayah Price (2024) |6-3 F| Hanson – A power-forward that will be a force for the Schoolers. Price is good at using his body around the basket. He works extremely hard.
Blake Rich (2024) |6-3 F| Aberdeen – Another tough power-forward. Rich is a long player that moves well. He is a smart forward that is picking up on the Schooler system very quickly.
Team Notes from Coach Bill Vincent:
“This will be a new group of dudes for me. I am excited to see them grow and mature during the season and I hope to send an improved product back to their high school coaches. We will have a lot of guys with college potential. It will be fun to mold this group together with the hopes of playing our best ball in July. I like the mix of pieces that we have with this group and I eagerly anticipate our first tourneys.”
