The Eagles from North Border had an impressive 2020-2021 season. They finished the year 17-3 and lost in the Region-2 Championship game to Grafton by 6 points. They came up a little short but they will use that as fuel to improve this offseason. I really like their group of players and the style of basketball they play. North Broder will be ranked in the top 10 polls before the season starts. North Border has size, athletes, and shooters. They have multiple players participating in the AAU season and the Eagles will be playing in team camps this summer. They were a tough team this year, they should be an elite team next year. Watch out for the North Border Eagles in Region-2 next season!

North Border has student-athletes from 3 communities: Pembina, Wallhalla, and Neche. The schools are located in Wallhalla and Pembina.

Team comments from coach Dan Moore:

“We will be attending some team camps this summer as well as playing in a summer league on top of all the AAU ball our boys will be participating in. The last game of the year left a sour taste in all our mouths and we are working hard to take that next step next year.”

Top Players

[player_tooltip player_id="1126980" first="Kyler" last="Moore"] (2022) |6-1 G| North Border – AAU team ND Attack. He will be one of the lead guards for the Eagles. Kyler is a tough defender that can create turnovers. I like his rebounding ability. He can put up points with jumpers and from attacking the basket off the bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id="1159584" first="Jaxen" last="Johnson"] (2022) |6-5 F| North Border – AAU team ND Attack. He will be one of the best big men in Region-2. Jaxen is a versatile forward that does work around the basket and from the perimeter. He is a nice rebounder that is capable of bringing the ball up the court if need be. Johnson has a nice shot. He can hit the triple as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1180845" first="Logan" last="Peterson"] (2022) |5-9 G| North Border – He will see valuable varsity minutes next season. Logan is a quick defender that will be a nice contributor for the Eagles.

[player_tooltip player_id="1050261" first="TJ" last="Cosley"] (2023) |5-11 G| North Border – AAU team ND Attack. TJ will be one of the better guards in Region 1. He has multiple moves that he uses to keep defenders off-balance. He has a smooth pull-up jumper. TJ has great stamina and he never stops playing hard. He is a team player that cares about his teammates. Playing AAU this summer will help his overall game by playing against top athletes from around the Midwest.

[player_tooltip player_id="1126978" first="Ayden" last="Stainbrook"] (2023) |6-4 F| North Border – AAU team ND Attack. He had a big shooting game last weekend in Sioux Falls and dropped 18 points. Ayden is a great catch and shoot player. He is a long-player with a nice vertical. I am expecting him to have many dunks in Region-2 play next season. He should be one of the top scorers in his region next season. Besides his shooting ability, he can slash and do work around the basket. Ayden’s height and long arms help him alter shots on defense. He will be one of the top overall players in Region-2.

[player_tooltip player_id="1180856" first="Daniel" last="Dummer"] (2023) |6-1 G| North Border – He works hard on the glass and on defense. His offensive game is developing.

[player_tooltip player_id="1180866" first="Nicholas" last="Carignan"] (2023) |6-1 F| North Border – He will help rebounding the basketball. Nicholas will also help with the depth at defending in the post.

[player_tooltip player_id="1180870" first="Grayson" last="Ohmann"] (2024) |5-11 G| North Border – He can put up points as an effective scorer. Grayson has the ability to defend quick guards.

[player_tooltip player_id="1165355" first="Grant" last="Cosley"] (2025) |5-7 G| North Border – AAU team ND Attack. As a freshman next season, he could potentially get varsity minutes. He will be a combo-guard that can play PG or SG. Grant is a hard-working youngster. He has fine-looking shot from the outside. Grant could supply a scoring surge off the bench if he continues to improve and get stronger over the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="1180878" first="Cade" last="Schafer"] (2026) |6-0 G| North Border – Because of low numbers and his talent level he will be logging big minutes on the JV squad next season.

Weston Cosley (2027) |5-5 G| North Border – AAU team ND Attack. As a 7th grader, he will be playing JV minutes next year. A talented young player.

Kaden Moore (2027) |5-0 G| North Border – AAU team ND Attack. As a 7th grader, he will be playing JV minutes next year. A skilled player for his age.

High School Season Schedule
