Hosted by Vegas Elite, the event features over 100 programs across 8 different divisions. The action got started early on Friday evening, with several players making an impact. In this article, a follow-up to Day 1 standouts, we take a look at the standouts from Day 2 of the event.
Bowen Hammer Bowen Hammer 6'8" | CG Fairmont Prep Academy | 2023 CA-S 6’7 PF Fastbreak 2023 – Hammer had himself a day. I’m not sure if he plays like this all the time, but if he does he needs to be firmly on someone’s radar. He showed solid ball skills, scoring off the bounce, good athletic ability grabbing out of area offensive rebounds, and the ability to stretch the floor from the college 3. Hammers size and skill fit in perfectly in today’s small ball game.
Alijah Adem Alijah Adem 6'2" | PG Spring Valley | 2024 State #174 Nation NV 6’1 PG Chosen Few 2024 – I think it’s fair to start labeling Adem as a winner. He has a ton of flashy skills, capable of making Highlight Reels, but at his core, he’s an uber-competitive guy willing to do anything for his team to win. My favorite moments on the day from him, making an overly aggressive defender hit the deck before pulling up for three and throwing a ridiculous underhand lob to teammate Desean Moreno Desean Moreno 6'4" | PF Spring Valley | 2022 State NV .
Zab Santana Zab Santana 6'5" | CG Cedar City | 2022 State UT 6’4 SF Cedar 2022 – It’s been quite a run recently for Santana. The 4A champ and MVP was efficient on Saturday. His vision and passing can best be described as dope. Santana has the size to see over defenders and the touch to deliver accurate passes to teammates. The bruising wing can play through contact to score, or get buckets with his back to the basket.
RJ Nance RJ Nance 6'2" | SG Centennial | 2024 State #313 Nation NV 5’10 CG Vegas Elite 2024 (featured image) – Got a good look at Nance today. The lefty is a versatile scoring machine. He did a good job of using one or two dribbles to create space and shoot from behind the line. He’s probably more of a two, however, he showed a tight handle in isolation and the ability to initiate the offense.
Desean Moreno Desean Moreno 6'4" | PF Spring Valley | 2022 State NV 6’4 SF Chosen Few 2022 – Moreno was the recipient of Adem’s lob. That shouldn’t be much of a surprise as he seemed to finish everything today. The 6’4 wing has a knack for scoring around the rim and in transition, he showed off both today. Moreno was one of the top R&J athletes at the event.
