HONORABLE MENTIONS

[player_tooltip player_id="611480" first="Tyson" last="Edmondson"] (2021, SG, Ann Arbor Huron)

Edmondson is an elite shooter with in the gym range. His shooting was evident with his 18 points in the semifinals and was essential in Ann Arbor Huron advancing to the championship game.

[player_tooltip player_id="811128" first="Ethan" last="Erickson"] (2021, SG, Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern)

Shooters shoot, and that’s what Erickson did. He had 19 points in a tough semifinal loss.

[player_tooltip player_id="611485" first="Linden" last="Holder"] (2021, PG, Warren De La Salle)

His team may have lost, but Holder did more than hold his own. He led his team with 19 points and was a leader on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="611465" first="Kingsley" last="Perkins"] (2021, PF, Ann Arbor Huron)

Perkins proved to be a difference maker in the paint throughout the Final 4. He pulled down 14 rebounds in the championship game.

[player_tooltip player_id="814649" first="Josh" last="Rechsteiner"] (2021, SG, Grand Blanc)

In the state finals, somebody has to hit ’THE SHOT’. This year it was Rechsteiner’s triple that gave Grand Blanc the lead and the momentum. Without his clutch 3, the game could have ended much differently.

[player_tooltip player_id="985658" first="RJ" last="Taylor"] (2023, PG, Grand Blanc)

If we could have 2 MVP’s, Taylor would be our second. We can talk about his 15.5 points per game in the Final 4, or even his plethora of assists, but it wouldn’t sum up his influence. Taylor is a true point guard and floor general at the highest level.

[player_tooltip player_id="811099" first="Devin" last="Womack"] (2021, PG, Ann Arbor Huron)

Womack always plays big in big games and he did it again in the state championship game. He had 18 points in the game.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER

[player_tooltip player_id="787618" first="Ty" last="Rodgers"] (2022, SF, Grand Blanc)

The legend of [player_tooltip player_id="787618" first="Ty" last="Rodgers"] has begun. He just led Grand Blanc to it’s first state championship in school history. The way he controls and influences a game, no matter what his numbers are, is miraculous. Rodgers is simply a constant threat to blow a game open with an eye popping dunk. In the semifinals he scored 19 points and grabbed 12 boards. In the championship game, his all around game was key. Rodgers finished with 9 points, 7 rebounds, and a smattering of assists and steals to go with it. The [player_tooltip player_id="787618" first="Ty" last="Rodgers"] story may be just beginning as his team will be one of the preseason favorites to bring home a second title next year.
