We took a trip down to Lake Point Sports Complex in Georgia for a big time event in the Breakout Exposure, an Adidas affiliated event. It featured some of the top Adidas programs from across the country, and many of the top prospects in the country in many of the classes. We checked out teams from multiple areas, and start with our part one of the many standouts, looking at some of the top players from Texas and North Carolina we got a chance to see.

[player_tooltip player_id="781876" first="Keyonte" last="George"] | 6’4” WG | Southern Assault ’22

One of the top prospects in the country, George showed the whole repertoire on the offensive end and showed why he’s on many draft boards already whether he attends school or not. At 6’4”, he has prototypical size at the guard position and he’s an elite scorer both on and off the basketball. He’s a very athletic finisher above the rim, he has in the gym range and can make shots as soon as he’s across half court and he can take over games at this level effortlessly.

Yohan Traore | 6’10” PF | Southern Assault 17U ’22

While George was the go-to guy for Southern Assault obviously, Traore was arguably their second best player on the weekend as he was super productive using his athleticism and high motor to make energy plays for his team on both ends of the floor. The 6’10” PF ran the floor like a gazelle, he’s big time finisher above the rim and a good shot blocker as well and he is physically dominant in the paint in the half court set. He looked every bit like a top 100 players in the country and has an offer sheet that should only expand once coaches can come out and watch him.

Quion Williams | 6’5” WF | Southern Assault 17U ‘22

Williams was the x-factor for Assault throughout the event, as he showed great energy and athleticism and was a two way impact guy that thrived in their press. He’s a long and athletic wing that uses his length to get deflections and steals, he turned defense into offense and he was fantastic in transition where he could use his athleticism and strength to finish above the rim and through contact. He’s the guy on this group that I expect to see his stock rise significantly this summer when coaches see all the winning plays he makes on both ends.

Freddie Dillion | 6’3” WG | Team Loaded NC 17U ’22

Dillion is a prospect that is on the rise right now and will continue to see his recruitment take off after picking up a couple of higher level offers recently. The 6’3” wing is a natural athlete and is skilled in a number of ways, as he can make shots from multiple levels and can rebound and guard multiple positions as well. He plays with a good motor and a chip on his shoulder, and he seems to get better and better every time you watch him play.

[player_tooltip player_id="869600" first="LJ" last="Thomas"] | 6’2” PG | Team Loaded NC 17U ’22

Thomas got off to a slow start, but it didn’t take long for him to show his creativity and scoring prowess at the point guard position. He’s the type of guard who isn’t selfish with the ball in his hands, but he’s a threat to score from so many different places on the floor and is so smooth with the ball in his hands he can pretty much get to wherever he wants on the floor to get a bucket. He has supreme confidence as a scorer but is also able to get his teammates involved and can control the game and set the tone on both ends of the floor.

MJ Rice | 6’6” WF | Team Loaded NC 17U ’22

Rice, who’s ranked pretty much across the board as a top 20 prospect in the country, showed his versatility and willingness to help the team as he’s one of the tallest players on the Team Loaded NC team and played all over the floor for them. Rice is a wing but he’s a very physically imposing guy who can outmuscle smaller guys, and he’s a versatile scorer who can do it on and off the basketball and can score from all three levels with consistency. He plays with great energy and uses his toughness and high motor to be productive across the board, and it’s no wonder why he’s one of the most sought after prospects in the country.

[player_tooltip player_id="1028010" first="Gabe" last="Proctor"] | 5’9” PG | Team Loaded NC 17U

Proctor isn’t the first guy you would look at when you see the Loaded NC team walk on the floor, but he’s a big part of their success with his ability to both handle pressure and absolutely light it up from deep. He’s an absolute sniper from deep who works well off the ball to get open, has a quick release and deep range and supreme confidence in his ability to make shots from deep. He’s a great teammate that encourages guys when on the bench and brings great energy to his group, and was the x-factor on the weekend for them as they usually won when he played well.

Ja’Kwon Moore | 6’4” CG | Team Loaded NC 16U ’23

I came away from the event impressed with a number of prospect, but as far as a guy I think will absolutely take off and showed he could be special here in the future was Moore. The 6’4” guard has a mix of physical and athletic tools, as well as a toughness and skill set to him that makes him very impressive and he is one of those guys that just brings it in big games and plays his best against the best. He’s just scratching the surface, but his ability to score it from all over the floor, lock up on the ball and rotate well defensively and his natural athleticism makes him a big time prospect moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="1039561" first="Isaiah" last="Washington"] | 6’3” WG | Team Loaded NC 16U ’23

Washington is another intriguing prospect for the Loaded NC group, as he showed a lot of potential as a shot maker and defender as he continues to develop and get stronger. The 6’3” wing is long and a good athlete, he can play both on and off the basketball and he’s adept at creating space and making shots from multiple levels on the floor. He’s a guy who can get hot quickly and take over basketball games, and when he gets it going he can hit almost every shot on the floor.
