The spring has been good to some of them already and should only go up as time goes by. Here are the 2022 wings who are already off to a strong spring.
Ziare Wells Ziare Wells 6'6" | SG Hillcrest Prep | 2022 #234 Nation AZ , 6’6 SG St. Benedict’s
Wells’ collegiate future is destined for the backcourt, but his length and athleticism allows him to play on the wing. The 6’6 lefty has a good handle and is at his best attacking the basket. Wells loves to finish above the rim and has a good release on his jumper. He jumps passing lanes on the defensive end and has the potential to run the offense. Wells has been playing well for the NY Gauchos this spring as he is just starting to scratch the surface of his potential.
Donovan Long Donovan Long 6'6" | SF Rutgers Prep | 2022 State NJ , 6’6 SF Rutgers Prep
Long had a solid debut season for the Argonauts and his stock is on the rise. The 6’6 wing can put the ball on the floor and is unafraid of drawing contact. Long has a nice touch around the basket and his range extends out to the three-point line. His motor does not stop on either end and is a versatile defender. Long recently picked up an offer from Fordham, which could be the first of more to come this spring.
Chase Clarke Chase Clarke 6'5" | SF Newark Academy | 2022 State NJ , 6’5 SF Newark Academy
Clarke has been putting up big numbers over the last two seasons and it should continue in the spring. The 6’5 forward has a strong frame which he uses to finish shots through contact around the basket. Clarke can take his defender off the bounce, but can also knock down jumpers from distance. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and has the potential to defend multiple positions. Clarke picked up an offer from Notre Dame (OH) last week and his offer sheet should grow before the start of his senior season.
Andrew Stack Andrew Stack 6'2" | SG Madison | 2022 State NJ , 6’3 SG Madison
Stack will be playing in the back court in college, but he is at his best off the ball. The 6’3 guard is a knockdown shooter from distance with a quick release and a good shooting stroke. Stack moves exceptionally well off the ball, setting himself up for easy layups and jumpers. He has a solid mid-range and can also get to the rim from the perimeter. Georgian Court recently offered Stack and it could be the first of more to come as the spring season moves forward.
Javon Adams, 6’9 SF/PF Olympus Prep
Adams is more of a combo forward, but his skillset allows for him to play on the perimeter. The lanky 6’9 wing has a good handle and is quite comfortable playing on the perimeter. Adams uses his size to rise up over smaller defenders for jumpers, but is also capable of finishing around the basket. He is an underrated passer and has the athleticism to be an impactful defensive player. Adams picked up offers from East Carolina and La Salle in the past 10 days as his stock is just beginning to take off.
