USA National Prep: Trinity Collegiate finishes strong

<p>The Trinity Collegiate Titans really packed in the games the past few months in the SCISA ranks. The Titans had only 3 games up until January 22, 2021. The Titans turned around and finished the year at (15-5) this past weekend in North Myrtle Beach. The Titans went (2-1) in the USA National Prep after losing a tough first round game at the buzzer to Piedmont Classical (NC) 44-43. The Titans won the Class 3A SCISA the week before hand with a victory over Porter Gaud in the Championship Game 63-54. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/03/71FB69A3-8D6B-4EAE-9F6D-BB3D6B8F3440.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1148019" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/03/71FB69A3-8D6B-4EAE-9F6D-BB3D6B8F3440-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>The Titans played its whole roster this past weekend in the USA National Prep. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1063826" first="Jamie" last="Muldowney"]</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1061082" first="Ryan" last="Djoussa"]</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1063829" first="Edmundas" last="Doviltis"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1061083" first="Taevean" last="Famutimi-Brown"]</strong> were all allowed to play. The foursome didn’t play in SCISA games this season under league guidelines. </p> <p>Muldowney originally from Ireland is more of a spot up shooter on the perimeter. Muldowney has a nice touch out to the three point line. Djoussa really likes to work for the position in the paint and plays the game on contact. Djoussa has the ability to play face-up to the basket and knockdown the short jumper. Doviltis brings some grit and toughness to the floor with his ability to defend. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="837320" first="Lebron" last="Thomas"]</strong> played great down the stretch and was consistent all season long with his play. Thomas a left-handed slashing guard went over 1,000 career points this year as a junior. Thomas saved the best for last in scoring 29 points vs Rock Creek Christian (MD) in a overtime victory over the weekend. Thomas a new addition to the Titans roster back in the fall when his prior school Lee Central HS (Bishopville) decided to opt out and not play athletics this year. McLeod had really came up big a week ago at the SCISA State Tourney and helped the Titans to the State Championship. McLeod scored 20 points in the win over Porter Gaud. McLeod brings a tough competitive edge to the floor with his ability to sacrifice his body in taking a charge or grabbing a loose ball on the floor. McLeod a defensive back on the gridiron really excels in the classroom with his academics. Saragba has legit size and mobility down in the paint for the Titans. Saragba can finish around the cup with a nice jump-hook when its falling for him.
