The Best of the Best Juco/Prep Showcase was held this past weekend. It featured quality Juco’s, and Prep School prospects, mixed in with a couple of quality high school prospects, and their club teams from NorCal. Prep Hoops was in the building to see how the unsigned Seniors held up against this group.

Team Grrr went 3-1 at the 2 day event losing by 2pts to Golden State Grey Prep.

[player_tooltip player_id="1111523" first="Aidan" last="Sevilla"] 6’0 Combo Guard was a standout performer who more than held his own on day one. He showed great body control on the drive and was a knockdown shooter. He was impressive on the drive using his body to absorb, and shield the defenders on his way to a bucket.

[player_tooltip player_id="775792" first="Emmanuel" last="Callas"] 6’5 Guard/Wing. I’m getting used to seeing Callas contribute to the success of his team. He’s been a consistent performer for a while now. His ball handling, shooting, and passing are improved. He can get a bucket when you need one. He hits the boards, and always ready to work on the defensive end. He had the catch and shoot working for him.

[player_tooltip player_id="1117392" first="Landon" last="Wiedenfeld"] 6’7 Forward continues to be productive. He was consistent with the mid-range jumper, hitting in the short corner, and other areas. He held his own in the post area defending taller player. He worked the boards, grabbing key rebounds for his team.

Family First went 3-1. Their only loss was to an experienced team that was making shots, and ready to play that first game on day 2 of the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="775776" first="Omari" last="Davis"] 6’1 Combo Guard put together 4 good games over the 2 day event. I hadn’t seen him run the point to often, at this event he was a solid facilitator, working to get others involved, feeding the post, finding open shooters, and cutters at the basket, then attacking the rim on his own, with some success. His shot was going in from 3.

[player_tooltip player_id="775767" first="Isaac" last="Montgomery"] 5’11 Guard/Wing He can usually bully his way to the basket against smaller defenders, it wasn’t that easy at this event. He still got to the basket, where he excelled taking it strong with balance, off two right at the defender. Davis delivered several passes to him for strong finishes in the paint.

Team Rampage 2-2. There’s no shame in losing to a quality team, that had it going.

[player_tooltip player_id="775758" first="Jeremiah" last="Jones"] 6’1 Guard, He’s a strong guard with good handles and some quickness to absorb any kind of contact on the drive. He hit a couple of corner 3’s. He used his quickness on the defensive side to apply good on ball pressure to the handler. He’s a tough minded player who gets after it.

[player_tooltip player_id="775772" first="Dante" last="Sawyer"] 6’5 Wing/ Forward, shows a good all around skill set, he made good decisions while handling the ball in the open court. He can get his own shot off the dribble, and he was effective when he was working in the post area. He has strength and a good feel for the game.

Ali Bledsoe 6’6 Forward. He’s a long athletic looking prospect, who looks like he can raise his stock if he keeps working to improve his game. He has some bounce, quick twitch muscles on the second jump. He was active going after rebounds, and put backs. He gets up and down the court at good speed. He has a good body to work with.

[player_tooltip player_id="775791" first="Miles" last="Keefe"] 6’4 Guard/Wing. Keefe is an high IQ player that doesn’t make a lot of mistakes, he has a solid dribble pull up in the key, he’s an under rated passer, and has a long wingspan to cover the passing lanes, and wings, he closes out well, and runs the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="775801" first="Agjanti" last="Miller"] 6’3 Combo Guard. Miller has a good shooting stroke, and can hit the mid-range, he’s improved his decision making when he has the ball. He’s a decent passer, and is getting to the rim. He showed he could get by defenders with his dribble.
