He shot 40% from behind the arc in a tough shooting venue and contributed across the board.

[player_tooltip player_id="962629" first="Eddie" last="Burgess"], Montezuma (2022)
Stats: 9.7 points, 59.1 FG%, 12.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 2.0 blocks, 1.3 steals

Burgess was vital for the Braves all week, pulling down 12 boards a game, and his presence in the paint was huge all week on the defensive end as well. He blocked 4 shots in the championship game, including the game-saving block on a Hilmer 3 with under 10 seconds left that could've tied the game. The 6-4 big man has great hands, rebounds everything, is a good passer and is a player who impacts the game on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="796167" first="Grant" last="Nelson"], Pella (2021)
Stats: 15.3 points, 41.2 FG%, 80.0 FT%, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals

Nelson led the Dutch in scoring during the week and was pretty consistent, going for 18 points and 5 rebounds in the quarters, 13 points and 4 rebounds in the semis, and 15 points and 6 rebounds in the championship game. The big, physical guard was able to get to the bucket and stretch the floor, and he knocked down 12 of 15 free throws during the week. He was the heart-and-soul of the Dutch, leading them to the 3A title.

[player_tooltip player_id="682278" first="Trey" last="Lewis"], Johnston (2022)
Stats: 11.7 points, 41.9 FG%, 41.2 3P%, 2.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists

The 5-10 junior guard had a big week for the Dragons, and boosted his recruiting stock as a result. He's a confident shooter who led the 4A field with 7 made 3-pointers, and he showcased some incredibly impressive range, routinely knocking down NBA-range 3s and making it look easy. He set the tone early in their semifinal win over Cedar Falls, using his quickness to get to the rim and going 3-7 from the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id="796112" first="Connor" last="Drew"], Ballard, (2021)
Stats: 14.7 points, 43.2 FG%, 9.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists

The 6-7 combo forward had a bit of a rough game in the 3A championship as he battled foul trouble, but he nearly averaged a double-double on the week, putting up 14.7 points and 9.7 rebounds a game. He was especially great in the semifinal win over Assumption, finishing with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

FOURTH TEAM

Wyatt Gulker, Western Christian (2022)
Stats: 14.7 points, 42.9 FG%, 76.2 FT%, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.7 steals

Gulker tailed off a bit later in the week, but he was excellent in the Wolfpack's win over Camanche in the quarterfinals, finishing with 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. A 6-3 junior wing, he was solid in his production across the board, showing his ability to impact the game even when he wasn't scoring.

[player_tooltip player_id="682282" first="Karl" last="Miller"], Pella (2022)
Stats: 12.0 points, 46.4 FG%, 42.9 3P%, 7.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals

Miller was excellent in the 3A championship game, finishing with 14 points on 4-6 shooting (3-3 3P), 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. The 6-4 junior wing has always been talented but has had a lot of injuries to contend with. Now that he's healthy, he's showcasing how good he can be on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="964880" first="Mason" last="Murphy"], Ballard (2021)
Stats: 11.0 points, 41.4 FG%, 50.0 3P%, 3.0 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 2.7 steals

Murphy had a huge week distributing the ball for the high-powered Bombers, dishing out 23 assists on the week, which was nearly twice as many as any other player in any class last week. A gifted lead guard, he also showcased his much-improved jumper throughout the week, going 6-12 from behind the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id="962617" first="Noah" last="Allen"], Pella (2022)
Stats: 13.7 points, 46.4 FG%, 40.0 3P%, 1.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists

Allen provided a real spark off the bench all week for the Dutch, and he was excellent in the 3A championship game, finishing with 19 points on 7-11 shooting (2-5 3P). The Newton transfer is a fantastic shooter both off the dribble and the catch, and he also did a great job getting to the rim throughout the week.

[player_tooltip player_id="962641" first="Dylan" last="Kurt"], North Linn (2022)
Stats: 13.0 points, 56.0 FG%, 50.0 3P%, 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals

Kurt battled back from a knee injury during the season and played superb basketball on both ends of the floor all week for the Lynx. (His knee injury will actually require another surgery during the offseason.) The 6-2 junior wing shot 56% from the floor, went 4-8 from 3, and showed the ability to be a playmaker for others, dishing out 10 assists on the week.
