He was efficient all week and showcased his ability to score inside and out while also dominating the glass.

Wyatt Gulker, Western Christian (2022)
Stats: 14.7 points, 42.9 FG%, 76.2 FT%, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.7 steals

Gulker tailed off a bit later in the week, but he was excellent in the Wolfpack’s win over Camanche in the quarterfinals, finishing with 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. A 6-3 junior wing, he was solid in his production across the board, showing his ability to impact the game even when he wasn’t scoring.

[player_tooltip player_id="964821" first="Marcus" last="Kelderman"], Boyden-Hull (2021)
Stats: 19.7 points, 58.5 FG%, 72.7 FT%, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.7 steals

The 6-1 lefty guard showcased his all-around scoring ability throughout the week, routinely getting to the rim for easy buckets, using his quick first step to blow by overmatched defenders. He’s a smooth offensive player who scores at a high clip and can make plays for others.

[player_tooltip player_id="682290" first="Tanner" last="Te Slaa"], Boyden-Hull (2022)
Stats: 21.7 points, 43.2 FG%, 86.2 FT%, 7.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.7 steals

The Division I prospect who holds a handful of mid-major offers was consistently strong all week, tying with Van Essen for the scoring lead with 65 points during the week. He struggled a bit with his jumper, particularly from the arc, all week, but he got to the free-throw line at a ridiculous clip, averaging just under 10 attempts a game.

[player_tooltip player_id="751418" first="Jayden" last="Mackie"], Aplington-Parkersburg (2022)
Stats: 27.5 points, 71.0 FG%, 70.0 3P%, 66.7 FT%, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.5 blocks, 1.0 steals

Mackie delivered one of the top three performances of the tournament (Van Essen’s championship and Ellis’ semifinal in 3A) with his 34 points on 13-14 shooting outing in the Falcons’ quarterfinal blowout against Van Meter. He was really good in their loss to Boyden-Hull in the semifinals as well, and if the consolation games were played this year, he would’ve certainly led the field in total points during the week. The athletic 6-1 lead guard has already committed to play at Upper Iowa.

Second Team

Bryan Zylstra, Boyden-Hull (2022)
Eljiah Hess, Des Moines Christian (2021)
[player_tooltip player_id="962669" first="Adam" last="Witty"], Des Moines Christian (2021)
[player_tooltip player_id="964850" first="Owen" last="Thomas"], Aplington-Parkersburg (2021)
Dayton Brunsting, Boyden-Hull (2021)

Honorable mentions: [player_tooltip player_id="796183" first="Grant" last="Veenstra"], Des Moines Christian (2021); Ashtin Van’t Hul, Western Christian (2023); Brayden Van Meeteren, Western Christian (2022); Garrett Hempen, Aplington-Parkersburg (2023); [player_tooltip player_id="796151" first="Jordan" last="Lawrence"], Camanche (2021)
