SubscribeEdmond, OK – The 12U division from the Sooner State Showdown featured 12 teams and an immense amount of talent. All 12 teams in this division played at an extremely high level and could have even competed in a higher age group at most tournaments. Here is a list of six of the best shooters from the 12U division.
Axel Anderson 5’3″ G Drive Nation Houston – Axel Anderson was a top-scoring option in the game that I got to watch Drive Nation Houston play and his jumper looked as pure as they come. He shoots best off the catch and shoots with rhythm and great footwork into his jumper. He also is threat off the dribble so he keeps the defense honest.
Ajay Vigil 5’1″ G JB White Elite (featured image) – Ajay Vigil was an absolute sniper from downtown in JB White Elite’s 59-33 win over AAO Flight. In this game, Vigil finished with 16 points and knocked down five three’s including a four-point play. He has a quick release and he gets to his spots.
Caden Miller 5’2″ G JB White Elite – Caden Miller and Ajay Vigil formed a dynamic splash brother duo in the 12U division and were a deadly backcourt. What makes Miller such an elite shooter is that he always finds a way to hit shots even when the defense is focused on stopping him. He never stops moving without the ball and shot best from the corners. In JB White’s narrow loss to Texas Summitt, Miller knocked down five threes including some big shots in the clutch.
Oliver Wallace 5’1″ G PWP – Oliver Wallace is an all-around point guard with a smooth offensive game. In PWP’s game against We R One, Wallace scored a quick 17 points in the first half and knocked down four threes. He has the ability to get hot quickly, a quick release, and shoots as well off the dribble as he does off the catch.
John Lungeni G Texas Summitt – John Lungeni proved to be an elite scorer and that he has the ability to get hot from downtown. He is a good shooter off the dribble and his three-point shooting is just another one of the great aspects of his game.
Evan Nanez 5’1″ G JB White Elite – Evan Nanez came alive in JB White Elite’s game against Texas Summitt and showed off his smooth jumper in this game. He can score from behind-the-arc and mid-range alike. He uses his pump fake well to get defenders jumping and then gets to his spots. He had an excellent second half in the championship game and proved he can do it all when it comes to shooting.
