<p>As each year passes, it seems there are more and more guards (and players that wish they were guards) in the world that all are trying to find their way to the next level. Each guard attempts to do something special to differentiate themselves and a few from the state of Idaho have been able to establish their skills and abilities in a league of their own. With the newfound importance of being able to handle the ball and shoot in order to be a solid guard, many players have risen to the challenge. Continue reading for a look at some of the top combo guards from the state of Idaho this season.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="921079" first="Titus" last="Yearout"], Lapwai:</strong> Yearout has had his name thrown around on this site quite heavily and he has definitely earned the respect and praise. Titus has proven himself as a true combo guard while averaging a lot of points per game as well as assists. He has a great shot from downtown and he is also able to finish at the rim with ease with both hands. Titus does it all for Lapwai and he impacts the stat sheet in a variety of ways and also effects the game in ways that do not show up on a stat sheet. </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="919668" first="Joe" last="Mpoyo"], Meridian:</strong> Joe had a standout year this season as he led Meridian in a lot of categories. Mpoyo has great size for his position and rebounds well. He has a deadly three-point jumper and he is a strong finisher at the rim who also scores a lot of points at the free throw line. Mpoyo really improved his scoring efforts this season and became a leader for Meridian. Joe will make a great guard at the next level wherever he lands.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="919694" first="Taden" last="King"], Madison:</strong> King stood out this season for Madison as a dynamic scorer. The lefty has a smoothness that can only be held by a left-handed player and he shoots the ball incredibly well. He loves to use a mid-range jumper and he constantly finds ways to catch his defenders off guard. Taden is tall for a guard and uses his height to shoot over the top of some smaller defenders. King will be a great talent at the next level.</p>
