REGIONAL 16

Regional 2 has some talented players and teams that could advance deep into the tournament. Here is a preview of the Region and my predictions.

LOCATION

Croswell-Lexington

DATE

March 30 and April 1

KEY PLAYERS

[player_tooltip player_id="811101" first="Tyson" last="Davis"] (2021, PG, Goodrich)

Davis is one of the top pure athletes in the state of Michigan. Needless to say, that will make him a nightmare for opponents when the ball is in his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="814573" first="Aidan" last="Rubio"] (2021, SF, Goodrich)

Rubio is a terrific talent and one of the best wings in Michigan. He can score from all 3 levels and plays with an aggressive game that allows him to turn momentum at the blink of an eye.

[player_tooltip player_id="1051074" first="Tyler" last="Johnson"] (2021, SG, Croswell-Lexington)

Johnson is a huge reason why Croswell-Lexington has had a storybook season so far. His shooting and playmaking are a huge part of his teams success.

[player_tooltip player_id="1051073" first="Hunter" last="Soper"] (2021, SF, Croswell-Lexington)

Soper, the best player to ever wear a Cros-Lex jersey, will not let his team be an easy out. Soper is an underrated athlete that can finish above the rim.

Emmanuel Hunter (2021, SG, New Haven)

Hunter is a shifty guard and can be a tough cover. It will be big for New Haven if he has his A game.

Brent Wiles (2021, G/F, New Haven)

Wiles is a well rounded wing that can put his imprint all over a scorebook. He has some explosiveness that helps make New Haven a threat.

Jacob Bendtsen (2021, PF, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep)

Bendtsen has been a consistent force and his team will rely on his athleticism and consistency.

Jack Olis (2022, SF, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep)

Olis is coming off possibly the best game of his high school career. If he stays hot, it’s a huge plus for Notre Dame Prep.

THE GAMES AND PREDICTIONS

REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Croswell-Lexington vs. New Haven

Prediction: Croswell-Lexington / Goodrich

* So here’s my explanation. Deep down, I think Cros-Lex will win it. But I’ve learned my lesson with [player_tooltip player_id="814573" first="Aidan" last="Rubio"]. Unless I’m 100% sure, I’m not picking against him. This game could be an instant classic. Let’s call it a push.
