Preps Hoops Class of 2024 Rankings are out. The list isn’t very long due to the situation we are in. We are hopeful that California will open up soon and we’ll be able to get in the gym to evaluate, and expand all of our classes in the future. This is a good group of 2024’s that will have impact on their respective high school teams.

[player_tooltip player_id="1119253" first="Benjamin" last="Roseborough"] 6’3 Guard, Sacramento HS. Sacramento, CA.

Entering high school Roseborough already has a good solid body on him. Add confidence, and an ability to score points on his own, you have a player ready to contribute right away. He plays with balance. His handles and strength allow him to finish his shot in the paint in different ways through contact, including a jumper in the key. He has 3pt range.

[player_tooltip player_id="1119247" first="Jamari" last="Phillips"] 6’2 Guard Combo, Modesto Christian HS. Modesto, CA.

It seems like Phillips has been around for a while, let’s not forget he’s just entering high school. He did play good basketball over the summer out of state. The combo guard showed a good amount of consistency, and understanding of the game. Phillips has the tools to be effective at the one, he’s effective off ball as well. He’s shown that he can knock down 3’s at a good rate. He’s a willing passer, and will defend.

[player_tooltip player_id="1119276" first="Ty" last="Virgil"] 6’2 Guard, Franklin HS, Elk Grove, CA.

Virgil has transferred to SCA in SoCal. He’s a long winged guard with a growing body. He has a good skill set for a Freshman. He’s a calm player that doesn’t get too caught up in the moment. His handles, and vision are good. He works well on the wings, and in transition at this point. He has a good shot from 3.

[player_tooltip player_id="1119270" first="Tyler" last="Thompson"] 6’3 Guard, Vanden HS, Vallejo, CA.

Thompson a lean guard with plenty of upside to his game. He moves well at the guard spot, and on the perimeter. He has a good mid-range jump shot, and good enough handles at this point to be effective with the ball on the wings and in transition. He has good foot speed and length to defend multiple positions. He’ll rebound

[player_tooltip player_id="1137233" first="Dante" last="Walls"] 6’3 Guard, Franklin HS, Elk Grove, CA.

Walls is a solid body prospect with a good feel for the game, and what he can do on the court. He’s good attacking from the wings, and baseline. He has the balance and strength to withstand the contact. His mid-range shot goes in, and he’ll shoot the 3 if left unattended. He doesn’t force things, and has good shot selection.

[player_tooltip player_id="1119279" first="Ahsan" last="Huff"] 6’7 Wing/Forward, Vanden HS, Vallejo, CA.

Huff is long, square shoulders, and a good frame to fill over time. He’s improving, but limited in his offensive skills right now. He’s a tireless worker when he’s on the court. He’s active when it comes to hitting the boards on both ends, he knows, that’s what gets him playing time. He’ll have to get stronger to handle the bigger players in the paint, but he’s a willing defender. He has some bounce, with good footspeed to run the court, and fill the lanes.
