PIAA D11 1A Final Nativity BVM (PA)/Notre Dame ES Notable Prospects

Nativity BVM (PA) W/F Marquis Ratcliff 6’5 ’22 Ratcliff who has nice positional size and versatility in his game showed that he could play on the perimeter and down low on the blocks. He was also able to pass out of the low post to shooters or moving cutters. Ratcliff was able to crash boards and collect 2nd chance points. He has tentacle-like arms which allow him to cover ground effectively and asserts himself into passing lanes. Ratcliff also positions himself in the correct spots on the floor which helps him to be successful when he steps onto the floor. He is able to put the ball on the deck in-transition. Hertz also scored through contact and used his extra dribble when being near the hoop. His skillset to make tough passes in a crowded lane is a rare ability for most post players. College coaches who are still looking for a big in the class of 2021 should definitely give Hertz a look. Notre Dame ES (PA) PG Aaron Bailey 6’2 ’21 (UNSIGNED) Initiates offense for self off the dribble in-transition and in the half-court. Bailey showed he was able to get around crowds in the lane to score at the basket. I really liked how he was able to convert off the bunce from mid-range. He has a good feel and pace of the game. On defense, he did a nice job of staying in front of his man and getting his fingers on steals and transitioned that well to points on offense. Bailey asserted himself on the glass and converted in a few 2nd chance opportunities. F Chase Medina 6’3 ’22 Medina is an intriguing forward at the small college level. From making tough passes throughout the game to scoring in different spots on the floor, and finding a way to collect rebounds, Medina did an excellent job in staying relevant throughout the game. Medina rolls well to the rim and can be a threat in pick & pop settings in the halfcourt. He was always barking out orders on D and tell his teammates when and where screens were and when to shift over in the zone. G Shawn Seay 6’2 ’21 (UNSIGNED) Seay did a nice job of filling the lanes in transition and was able to get 2nd chance baskets. He is really. explosive and can play near the rim. I liked how Seay absorbs contact when going up for a shot when attacking downhill. He played with great energy on either end.
