The 2021 season is almost over with the last couple of days providing great individual match-ups. These games set up for X-Factors to shine as they prove why they are trusted so much by their coaches. Non-Public B is filled with X-Factors who should be difference makers for their teams down the stretch. Here are the top X-Factors in Non-Public B North.

[player_tooltip player_id="1025905" first="Jamarques" last="Lawrence"], 6’2 SG Roselle Catholic 2022

The Lions are loaded with talent in the backcourt with UConn commit [player_tooltip player_id="787669" first="Corey" last="Floyd Jr"]. and [player_tooltip player_id="850752" first="Simeon" last="Wilcher"], while Lawrence is the team’s marksman. The Plainfield transfer has a clean shooting stroke and does not need a lot of space to get his shot off. Lawrence is not just a shooter as he can also take the ball to the basket off the bounce. He is an underrated defender and has a good chemistry with Wilcher and Floyd Jr. Lawrence has had a good debut season for Roselle Catholic and should have a dangerous senior season for the Lions.

DiAndre Souh, 6’3 SG Montclair Immaculate 2021

[player_tooltip player_id="1036729" first="Zakai" last="Zeigler"] and [player_tooltip player_id="850513" first="Jayden" last="Brown"] have been stellar for the Lions this season, but South has been consistent all season. The Pope John transfer is a big-time athlete who can finish in a variety of ways around the rim. South is more than just a slasher as he is capable of knocking down jumpers from deep. He is one of the top rebounding guards in the class as he has seven double-doubles this season. South has been an impact player for Montclair Immaculate this season, creating one of the top backcourt trios in the Garden State.

[player_tooltip player_id="901964" first="Ryan" last="Zan"], 6’7 PF Ranney 2022

The Panthers are 8-0 on the season as they are getting good production on the interior from Zan. The 6’7 stretch four has a nice release on his jumper and his range extends past the three-point line. Zan also has a nice touch around the basket and can draw contact around the rim. He is a strong rebounder and is an underrated passer. Zan is a solid stretch four who has the potential to make noise in his senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id="902741" first="Elijah" last="Gertrude"], 6’0 PG Hudson Catholic 2023

The Hawks have been one of the top teams in North Jersey throughout the season and the emergence of Gertrude on the perimeter is why. The 6’0 guard is a good finisher around the basket and knows how to draw contact. Gertrude also has a nice handle and is capable of running the offense. He is a strong rebounder as he ripped down 15 against St. Thomas Aquinas. Gertrude has an extremely high ceiling and fits in perfectly with Hudson Catholic’s backcourt.

[player_tooltip player_id="1043261" first="Dom" last="Thomas"], 6’4 SG St. Joseph Academy 2021

The Wildcats are one of the top teams in South Jersey and the addition of Thomas is a reason why. The Clearview transfer is at his best attacking the basket as he is a good finisher and has the ability to get to the line. Thomas also has a good release on his jumper and moves off the ball pretty well. He is a strong rebounder and makes plays on the defensive end. Thomas is the perfect compliment to [player_tooltip player_id="900329" first="Marcus" last="Pierce"] and [player_tooltip player_id="900365" first="Jordan" last="Stafford"] as St. Joseph Academy has been dominant throughout the season.

Other Players to Know:

[player_tooltip player_id="901974" first="Donovan" last="Long"], 6’6 SF Rutgers Prep 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="931033" first="Jameel" last="Morris"], 5’10 PG Trenton Catholic 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="929513" first="Ryan" last="Cassels"], 5’10 PG Saddle River Day 2021

Nick Losada, SG Gill St. Bernard’s 2023

Tyler Koenig, 6’8 PF DePaul 2023
