GHSA State Championships: Day 1 Standouts

2021 6-4 F Landon Kardian – Holy Innocents’

Landon Kardian brought his hard hat to work on Wednesday. The football player was tough around the hoop and drew fouls in the paint. Kardian went 8-9 from the foul line and led all scorers with 14 points. His toughness and sneaky explosion to the hoop help him play bigger than his size.

2021 6-7 C [player_tooltip player_id="806777" first="Nate" last="Gordon"] – Mt. Pisgah

The tallest player on the floor, [player_tooltip player_id="806777" first="Nate" last="Gordon"] did what he had to posting 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. He had three offensive rebounds and showed a nice hook shot in the lane. He’s one of the best available bigs left in Georgia.

2021 6-4 PG [player_tooltip player_id="806742" first="JoJo" last="Peterson"] – Mt. Pisgah – IPFW

The slashing and playmaking of [player_tooltip player_id="806742" first="JoJo" last="Peterson"] accounted for 11 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. His length on defense, especially down the stretch, helped the Patriots rally for an improbable victory. His outside shooting must improve, but he has all the measurables to become a solid college player.

2021 6-5 W [player_tooltip player_id="1047091" first="Kasheem" last="Grady"] – Mt. Pisgah

The steal. The score. [player_tooltip player_id="1047091" first="Kasheem" last="Grady"]’s pick-pocket and buzzer beating jumper capped Mt. Pisgah’s incredible 10-0 run to stun Holy Innocents’. Grady is a big athletic wing that can get downhill and has some range on his jumper. He had 8 points in the 43-41 win.

2021 6-5 W [player_tooltip player_id="1130508" first="Terry" last="Brown"] – Fayette County

With the ability to play multiple positions, [player_tooltip player_id="1130508" first="Terry" last="Brown"] is one of the more interesting prospects left unsigned. He’s a point-forward that can play 1-4. He pushes in transition, can score from the perimeter, facilitate and score inside. He tallied 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Non-D-I’s will want to track him heavily.

2021 6-3 SG William Freeman – Baldwin

[player_tooltip player_id="1025336" first="Will" last="Freeman"] cemented himself as a Milledgeville legend when his mid-range jumper hit off the front of the rim and span backwards into the hoop to give Baldwin their first state title since 1981. Freeman, who has been one of Baldwin’s top scorers since early in his career, netted 12 points to lift the Braves to a 54-53 win over Fayette County to secure a perfect 17-0 season.

2023 5-9 G [player_tooltip player_id="1050122" first="Rudolph" last="Satcher"] – Baldwin

The Braves has a super quick guard in [player_tooltip player_id="1050122" first="Rudolph" last="Satcher"]. He was able to cause issues with his ability to get into the lane. Satcher’s outside shot was on target and his speed on defense frustrated the Tigers. He finished with 12 points.
