Class 2A and 3A Championships

<p>The Palmetto State High School Basketball season is coming down to the wire this week in Aiken. The Class 2A and Class 3A have crowned state champions for this season of 2020-2021. The Cavaliers won its first state championship in boys basketball this year. The Red Devils played in the Class 3A State Championship last season before losing to Keenan HS. </p> <p><em><strong>Class 3A - Marlboro County HS (Bennettsville) defeats Seneca HS 71-60 </strong></em></p> <p>The Bulldogs last one a state championship in 2001 under then Head Coach Ken Spencer. Spencer is now a assistant coach at Shaw University. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1053651" first="Dreveon" last="Scott"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="840228" first="Devonta" last="Oliver"]</strong> provided the fireworks for the Bulldogs all year long and today nothing changed. Scott scored 23 points while Oliver dropped 16 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists in the win. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1069979" first="Prince" last="Johnson"]</strong> a sophomore provided 10 points in the win. The Bulldogs won a buzzer beater game in the Lower State Championship over Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS on a tip in by Oliver. </p> <p>The Bulldogs finished the season at (11-2). </p> <p>The Bobcats were frustrated all game long by the 1-3-1 defense the Bulldogs threw at them. The high powered offense averaging just under 75 ppg were kept under there average.<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="840231" first="Jared" last="Rogers"]</strong> playing in his last game finished with 28 points while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930603" first="EJ" last="Evett"]</strong> added 21 points. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
