The 2020-2021 season is one that we will never forget. Mainly because of Covid-19 and all the craziness that has come along with that. However, we had amazing individual performances this season. More importantly, we had fantastic team performances and a great State Tournament. Let us look at the Bests of the 20-21 season….. Best Athletes [player_tooltip player_id="812219" first="Carson" last="Hegerle"] (2022) |6-4 G/F| West Fargo – Unreal hops, speed, and explosion. He looks to be a D1 football player. Besides being a top-notch athlete, he plays with great determination. [player_tooltip player_id="750185" first="Jah’Heem" last="Leake"] (2021) |6-8 F| West Fargo Sheyenne – A real-deal athlete who could end up playing D1 hoops after NDSCS. Everything looks easy for him because he is such a gifted athlete. Best Point-Guard [player_tooltip player_id="750158" first="Deonte" last="Martinez"] (2021) |5-11 G| Minot – A great leader and an elite defender. He has a great pull-up jumper. He makes everyone around him better and he is a fierce competitor. Best Combo-Guard [player_tooltip player_id="1046343" first="Latrel" last="Davis"] (2021) |6-3 G| Fargo Davies – An entertaining athlete who had multiple highlight-reel plays this year. He might be the best slasher in North Dakota. [player_tooltip player_id="731881" first="Carson" last="Lamp"] (2021) |6-1 G| Jamestown – A tough player who plays the game the right way. He is a hard-nosed defender. He can score from all-over and he has all the tools. [player_tooltip player_id="750176" first="Jayce" last="Lowman"] (2021) |6-3 G| Mandan – A gifted scorer and a better shooter. He has deep range and can shoot it off the dribble or catch and shoot. He is a quality athlete. Best 5-Man [player_tooltip player_id="731876" first="Jacksen" last="Moni"] (2021) |6-10 F| West Fargo Sheyenne – A great athlete who can do it all. He can shoot from beyond the arc. He is at his best on the block or slashing to the rim. A great passer and an excellent rebounder. Best Power-Forward [player_tooltip player_id="731900" first="Carter" last="Birrenkott"] (2021) |6-5 F| West Fargo – A powerful athlete who will play college football. He has a perfect runner/floater that always seems to go in. He is a tough and gritty player who owns the boards. Best Small-Forward [player_tooltip player_id="731870" first="Owen" last="Hektner"] (2021) |6-7 F| Fargo Davies – A high-level shooter from downtown. He can also score off the bounce or on the block. He is a strong athlete with great elevation. [player_tooltip player_id="750157" first="Wyatt" last="Enno"] (2021) |6-3 G| Turtle Mountain – An old school player with great feet and crafty moves. He can fill it up from outside with his soft touch. Best Stretch-4 [player_tooltip player_id="1046352" first="Treysen" last="Eaglestaff"] (2022) |6-5 F| Bismarck – A sharpshooter from beyond the arc with a perfect stroke. He is a smart player with a great feel for the game. He looks like he can play D1 basketball after next season. He hurt teams outside, mid-range, and around the basket. Best Shooter [player_tooltip player_id="750184" first="Tyler" last="Tollefson"] (2021) |5-10 G| Wahpeton – An elite shooter from beyond the 3-point arc. He has a lightning-quick shot. He moves extremely well without the ball. [player_tooltip player_id="731866" first="Gunner" last="Swanson"] (2021) |6-5 F| Bismarck – He has a beautiful shot with solid form and excellent elevation. A smooth athlete who knows the game well. He can flat-out shoot the rock. [player_tooltip player_id="1110932" first="Kameron" last="Arechigo"] (2021) |6-2 G| Fargo South – A sniper from 3-point land. He has extended range that goes out by the NBA line. He is a confident shooter with an ultra-soft shot. [player_tooltip player_id="812231" first="Brett" last="Limke"] (2022) |6-1 G| West Fargo – Probably the best FT-shooter in ND. He has one of the best pull-up jumpers from beyond the arc. I love his shot and how he never rushes his release. Best Rebounder [player_tooltip player_id="1050245" first="Ryan" last="Erikson"] (2023) |6-8 F| Bismarck Century – A big man who is not afraid of contact. He has the height, size, and strength to dominate on the glass. [player_tooltip player_id="750164" first="Mason" last="Gravseth"] (2021) |6-4 F| Grand Forks Central – A rough-and-tumble player with a great motor. He is a tenacious post player who hustles all over the court. He is a tough athlete. Best Scorer [player_tooltip player_id="750167" first="Nick" last="Kupfer"] (2021) |6-3 G| Bismarck Legacy – The best scorer in Class A. He put up 46 in a game this season. A D1 level athlete. He can pour it in from all over the court. Best Stat-Filler [player_tooltip player_id="1131388" first="Munezero" last="Desire"] (2021) |5-8 G| Wahpeton – A quick and energetic athlete. He is a phenomenal rebounder and a hard-working defender. He racks up the steals on defense. Des is also a great scorer.
