The Arizona Competition Classic took place Saturday, March 20th, and Sunday, March 21st. Hosted by recruiting legend Gerry Freitas the two-day event featured 18 total teams. It also featured several players that could straight up strap. In this article, we take a look at the top Snipers from the event.

Niklas Berry 6’6 SF West Coast Prep 2021 - Berry is a corner 3 specialist. He had the fastest release of any player at the event. Good size for a shooter, Berry displays textbook form on his shot. He was consistent all weekend, navigating the ups and downs of WCP, and still managing to knock down shots in catch and shoot action.

[player_tooltip player_id="947389" first="Isaiah" last="Kerr"] 6’3 PG Sneakersteal 2022 - I believe Kerr is a D1 guy specifically because of his ability to shoot it. He has a nice handle and can shake free from defenders, allowing him enough space to get his shot off. Kerr has good range as well, knocking down several shots beyond the college three-point line.

[player_tooltip player_id="1129032" first="Gavin" last="Martinez"] 6’2 SG Port City 2022 - Got to give some love to my guy Martinez. "Don’t leave 12" Coaches yelled that throughout the weekend. Martinez was a marksmen from the corner and made big shots throughout the weekend.

Jon Escobedo 6’3 SG TMG Prep 2021 - Was happy to see Escobedo for the second time in about 6 months. He hasn’t lost his stroke. The sharpshooter sprayed from all over the court but didn’t miss when sniping from the corner.

[player_tooltip player_id="929597" first="Connor" last="Drinkwine"] 6’1 SG Washington Supreme 2021 (featured image) - Best shooter at the event. Drinkwine is a multi-faceted shooter. He made shots in catch-in shoot, off the bounce, and off the move. He understands how to use screens and when he got his feet set, he was automatic. The SG has a few D2 offers including Puget Sound and Alaska Fairbanks.

Easton Reagan 6’3 SG Arizona Dream 2022 - Reagan was simply to good to ignore. He consistently shot the ball well from behind the line this weekend. The 6’3 SG did a great job of prep work, knocking down multiple treys in every game he played.

Follow Prep Hoops
