<p>PrepHoops Texas released its updated 2022 Rankings this week and a talented group of Central Texas players made a jump up the rankings due to their impressive play during the high school season. This article features seven Austin-San Antonio area players who elevated their game and caught our eye this past season.</p>

<li>A combo guard with a good frame and plus athleticism, Blackmore dominated 3A ball all season long and ended the year with a state championship and a 34 point MVP performance in the game. He brings a lot to the table and has improved his jump shooting ability, especially in the pull-up game. Blackmore currently holds offers from Lehigh University, UT-Rio Grande Valley, and the University of Denver. <em>Earned First Team All-District 26-3A (Co-MVP) & UIL 3A Region 4 All-Region Team.</em></li>

<li>Dow made a massive jump in our rankings thanks to a monster season where he showed he was an elite scorer from the point guard position. A polished and smooth playmaker, Dow put up 19.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in 13 games with recorded stats. Has a quick first step that allows him to blow by defenders, while also supporting a highly efficient three-point shot. <em>Earned First Team All-District 28-6A (MVP) & UIL 6A Region 4 All-Region Team.</em></li>

<li>Brandon took the next step in his development with increased playing time during his junior season and he showed to be one of the best players on the court no matter who Judson played. A really athletic guard who plays good defense and likes to push the pace, Brandon does really well in the open court and on fast break opportunities. He also showed the ability to command and run an offense. Averaged 19.7 points (39% from three), 4.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game (27 games). <em>Earned First Team All-District (MVP) & UIL 6A Region 4 All-Region Team.</em></li>

<li>Smart was a key contributor for a talented Hutto squad this past season and put up an impressive stat line of 16.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 3.5 steals per game (28 games). Smart was terrific from beyond-the-arc throughout the season knocking down 102 threes at a 39% clip. Even though he is an elite shooter, Smart brings a lot more to the floor with his passing and court vision, as well as using his length and anticipation skills to play tough defense. <em>Earned First Team All-District 25-6A.</em></li>

<li>An athletic forward who can run the floor and finish above the rim, Napoleon enjoyed a successful season with San Antonio Lee, bouncing back from an injury that he sustained last season playing for Pflugerville Weiss. Napoleon has really good length, quick leaping ability, and does a good job of cleaning up rebounds and creating second-chance opportunities. <em>Earned First Team All-District 28-6A.</em></li>

<li>A versatile forward/wing, Williams continues to improve and posted a double-double average this past season. The 6'7" forward averaged 13.6 points (team-leading) and 11.6 rebounds (team-leading) in 17 games with recorded stats. In addition to his scoring output and rebounding ability, Williams can defend the rim and get out and run the fast break. <em>Earned First Team All-District 29-6A.</em></li>
</ul>

<li>Another versatile forward who moved up our rankings, Whybrew has a diverse skill set that allows him to play several different positions, which he did for Weiss this past season. Whybrew averaged 9.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game (21 games). Whybrew can play physically in the paint and also step out and hit from beyond-the-arc, while also showing to be a smart passer and someone who can guard the 2-5 positions. <em>Earned First Team All-District 18-5A.</em></li>
