WPIAL 1A Players to Watch

<p>We end our series of top players in each classification of western Pennsylvania with the 1A class.  These young guys play at the smallest division in the area, but their performances will definitely be "big" as they move on this season.  Below we take a look at some of the soon-to-be standout student/athletes...</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h6>[player_tooltip player_id="991291" first="KeVaughn" last="Price"], Bishop Canevin High School</h6> <h6>Junior 6’1" Guard</h6> <h6>- He is a quick, skilled guard that will look to create many opportunities from his ability<br /> - A high motor and athletic player which separates him from his opponents<br /> - Gets up and down the floor at will, mostly due to steals from his defensive pressure<br /> - Has a knack to always find the open man or make that extra pass<br /> - Getting some college interest</h6> <h6><br /> [player_tooltip player_id="991087" first="Dylan" last="Cook"], Leechburg High School</h6> <h6>Senior 5’11" Guard</h6> <h6>- A quality defender who is a floor general<br /> - Always looks to provide opportunities for his team<br /> - Can get out in the open court and manages the game exceptionally well<br /> - Assist to turnover ratio is off the charts<br /> - College interest is starting to develop</h6> <h6> </h6> <h6>[player_tooltip player_id="991088" first="Dom" last="Elliott"], Bishop Canevin High School</h6> <h6>Senior 6’4" Forward</h6> <h6>- Has the ability to post up his opponents, while stepping out on the perimeter to make shots<br /> - Plays on a balanced team who all share the ball and he directs the offense at times<br /> - A quality defender who looks to get out on the fast break<br /> - Finishes well at the basket and has a variety of moves to the hoop<br /> - Getting some college interest</h6> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h6>[player_tooltip player_id="991305" first="Senique" last="Jenkins"], Imani Christian High School</h6> <h6>Junior 6’5" Forward/Center</h6> <h6>- Definitely takes up space in the lane and can finish strong at the rim<br /> - Above-average defender and shot blocker that causes havoc in the middle<br /> - Can play in the post, as well as on the wing/perimeter<br /> - Has worked to develop an all-around skillset, which causes match-up problems for his opponents<br /> - Attracting a variety of college opportunities</h6> <h6> </h6> <h6>[player_tooltip player_id="991361" first="Matt" last="Stanley"], Union High School</h6> <h6>Sophomore 5’10" Guard</h6> <h6>- He is able to lead on the floor while playing at a high-level<br /> - Has an excellent mid-range jumper while being able to consistently make foul shots<br /> - Works hard to develop his game and it shows on the court</h6> <h6>- An extremely coachable and understands the game <br /> - Despite being young he is garnering some college looks</h6> <h6><br /> <br /> Taking a look at the talented Class A group will make you respect the type of basketball they play here in western PA.  They might play at a smaller level, but their heart and work ethic is a huge part of the success on the floor.</h6>
