SubscribeLadera, Ca -The Prep Hoops Next Circuit made its long-awaited West Coast debut with a stop in Southern California. The event took place on February 6th and 7th at the Ladera Ranch Sports Complex in South Orange County. The event which was open to 12u, 13u, and 14u teams, featured competitive pool play, and a championship bracket. It also featured several players with advanced ability around the rim. In this article, we take a look at the top finishers from the event.
Mckel Shedrick 6’1 SG Team Eleate 2025 – Shedrick looked like the old guy at the park that scores on everybody. It wasn’t pretty but he just keeps getting buckets. Overall he might have opened the most eyes this weekend. with his ability to score from a variety of levels. His herky-jerky mothion, combined with his ability to get into the paint and finish with lefty floaters, and layups, reminded me of former Memphis Tiger Chris Douglas Roberts (google him).
Isaiah Cunningham 6’2 SF Gametime 2025 – His size, speed, and explosiveness is evident. Cunningham was almost unstoppable in transition. Everything he did was with a burst, and that included mad dashes to the rim. Upon arrival, he was able to finish over and around defenders, when going to his strong hand.
Jason Crowe Jr 5’6 PG The Truth 2026 – Crowe was one of the most electrifying players in the event. He has major wiggle to his game and showed the ability to finish in the lane, despite being one of the smaller guards on the floor. His off the bounce shooting was big-time all week, as he had a few highlight-worthy COD’s leading to spectacular finishes.
Brayden Burries 6’4 SF Team Determined 2025 – Burries was the most explosive player at the event. He had multiple dunks and even finished one going baseline in traffic. When he got downhill, his frame, size, and explosiveness were simply too much for defenders to deal with.
Josiah Andrews 5’8 SG YBA Elite 2026 – Andrews displayed an advanced skill set. He was able to get to the basket and finish, but it was his off the dribble shooting that was impressive. He showed an array of step-backs and side steps allowing him to free himself from defenders, raise up, and drill jumpers.
Zak Abdalla 6’1 SG West Coast Select 2025 – I’m a big fan of players that raise their game as the stakes get higher. Abdella was at his best in the Semis and Championship game for WCS. He was able to finish around the rim with his strong hand, and displayed a knack for making tough contested shots, in tight game situations.
Jack Egginton 6’4 SF AZ Tuscon Select 2025 – Egginton probably had one of the highest field goal percentages of any player at the event. He seemed to make everything from 15 feet in. The Australian import whose been in the country for only a year, mixed up little jump hooks and mid range jumpers to score effectively in the paint all weekend.
