Weekend games are always fun to watch as they are an excellent opportunity to challenge teams. The pandemic has forced a lot of changes on the schedule, but it has also provided great match-ups on the weekend. Here are the under the radar match-ups to keep an eye out for this weekend.

Sterling vs. Cherokee

This South Jersey clash might be flying under the radar, but it shouldn’t be with both teams entering the contested undefeated. [player_tooltip player_id="1013001" first="Antoine" last="Arnett"] has been outstanding for the Silver Knights with five 20-point games this season. The lanky 6’5 wing loves to finish above the rim, but he can also put the ball on the floor and knock down jumpers. Cherokee has faced a tough schedule so far this season and is led by senior guard [player_tooltip player_id="1024751" first="Drew" last="Wixted"]’s combination of poise, toughness and skill. This game should be hotly contested throughout as both teams look to remain unbeaten on the season.

Red Bank Catholic vs. Holmdel

Another unbeaten showdown on the docket as both teams are jockeying for positions among the top 5 teams in the Shore. The Caseys are led by junior dual-sport athlete [player_tooltip player_id="931027" first="Alex" last="Bauman"] and sniper [player_tooltip player_id="931026" first="Cy" last="Arvanitis"]. [player_tooltip player_id="1016643" first="Alex" last="Baker"] is the main man for the Hornets, but he is not the only one capable of taking over games. Senior Ryan Bradley put up 23 points in his last game and is a good compliment to Baker. This game is vital as both teams are looking for supremacy in the Shore.

Egg Harbor vs. Holy Spirit

This game was played only a couple of weeks ago, but the rematch should be just as exciting. [player_tooltip player_id="1033441" first="Carlos" last="Lopez"] finished the game with 17 points, five assists and three steals, showing his ability to impact the game in multiple ways. The 6’0 lefty is extremely crafty with the ball in his hands and has a good chemistry with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="1017198" first="DJ" last="Germann"]. [player_tooltip player_id="933047" first="Jahmir" last="Smith"] has been on a scoring tear to start off the season with five 20-point games as he excels at drawing contact and getting to the line. This Cape-Atlantic League showdown will be one to watch with two of the more underrated guards in South Jersey.

Morris Catholic vs. Madison

This NJAC match-up will be fun to watch with two of the top junior guards in Morris County squaring off against each other. [player_tooltip player_id="1016677" first="Omarion" last="Jett-Dobbs"] is a tough, two-way guard who is at his best attacking the basket from the perimeter and can finish through contact. The Montclair transfer is also a good option to run the offense as he 11 assists in his last two games. [player_tooltip player_id="901988" first="Andrew" last="Stack"] is a knockdown shooter from distance, but can also put the ball on the floor and get to the basket. [player_tooltip player_id="902758" first="Lorenzo" last="Perez"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1016679" first="Justin" last="Brown"] will make an impact for Morris Catholic, but Jett-Dobbs’ defense on Stack will be the difference in the game.

Eastern vs. Paul VI

This Olympic Conference showdown is full of intriguing match-ups to watch, starting in the backcourt. Lindenwold transfer [player_tooltip player_id="900297" first="Tazir" last="Cantey"] is a scoring machine, capable of dropping 20 points on any given night. The Eagles have a pair of lockdown defenders in the backcourt in junior [player_tooltip player_id="1026250" first="Jaden" last="Arline"] and senior [player_tooltip player_id="900324" first="Jaylen" last="Boyd-Savage"]. NJIT commit [player_tooltip player_id="850529" first="Wisler" last="Sanon"] is also a big-time defender and he will have his hands full with lanky wing [player_tooltip player_id="929514" first="Zubair" last="Lee"], who is averaging a little under 22 points per game this season. Eastern and Paul VI should be a fun game to watch with both teams looking to get a win in the tough Olympic Conference.
