SubscribeSetbacks have a way to be setups for more incredible things to come. That is exactly what happened with Coach Eric ‘Flee’ Emedoh, head of the grassroots program Carolina Underdogs based out of Columbia, SC. After suffering a broken hip at the age of 22, Coach Emedoh’s playing career came to an abrupt halt. He wasn’t ready to give up the game, however, and continued to look for ways to have an impact in the game that he had grown to love. It did not take him very long to find that path, as he took his talents to the realm of coaching. He has built a successful program in two years, and he is stepping out onto the Prep Hoops Next stage to compete with some of the best teams across the country.

Coach Emedoh not only has built the Carolina Underdogs into a program with six teams that is hugely competitive, but he also coaches varsity ball at Ben Lippen High School in Columbia, SC. When he started the Carolina Underdogs in 2019, he wanted to give youth an opportunity to do positive things in the community as well as have fun playing basketball. With the pillars of academics, sportsmanship, and teamwork as the program’s standards, Emedoh is improving and equipping the minds of his players to be their best on and off the court.
When I asked Emedoh about his roster, he quickly made sure that it was known that Braysen Stockman is sure to make some noise this saeson. It was evident that when getting to the players that lead the Carolina Underdogs that Braysen was one that everyone looked to when it came to leadership on the court.
So let’s look at who is leading the Carolina Underdogs on the Prep Hoops Next Circuit this year:

Emedoh is excited about the stage that the Prep Hoops Next Circuit is going to offer his team. He is excited to see how his team measures up against some of the best in the country. When I asked Coach what is the ONE THING that you want to accomplish with your program this year.
“Get better through experience,” he said.
Emedoh has definitely set the stage for his players to get the experience that he wants them to have by putting them on the Prep Hoops Next Circuit, and with the Rumble Under The Palms quickly approaching, the experience that the Carolina Underdogs desire is right around the corner.
