Today we unveil prospects #46 – #50!
#46 Jakobi Heady Jakobi Heady 6'8" | SF Hillcrest | 2021 State IL (Hillcrest – 2021)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Heady is the first of a trio of Hillcrest prospects on this list. The JUCO recruit is a long and rangy wing that covers a lot of ground with his long strides attacking the rim and can knock down spot up jumpers. Defensively he can guard twos, threes, and fours. Going to be one to watch coming out of junior college.
#47 Ola Ajiboye Ola Ajiboye 6'8" | PF Evanston | 2021 State IL (Evanston – 2021)
Last Year’s Rank: #46
Ajiboye is a long and lanky four man that is still uncommitted. What we like about his game is that he is a two-way player. Defense comes first with his shot blocking, ability to defend in ball screens, and disrupting what opponents are doing. On the other end he catches lobs, runs the floor with ease, shows sound footwork, and has a decent face up shot.
#48 Jaehshon Thomas Jaehshon Thomas 6'1" | PG Whitney Young | 2021 State IL (Whitney Young – 2021)
Last Year’s Rank: #35
Tough and competitive point guard that has been playing very well as of late. In the fall and winter he showcased his ability to run a team while still picking his spots to score. Good pull up mid-range shooter that can also put his head down and get to the rack.
#49 Brian Mathews Brian Mathews 6'8" | C Depaul Prep | 2021 State IL (DePaul Prep – 2021)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Mathews is a center that is headed off to UMass next season. The strong bodied five man is an anchor down low rebounding very well in his area and can score with an array of old school post moves. Going to be a nice player in the A-10!
#50 Justin King Justin King 6'4" | PG Mascoutah | 2022 State IL (Mascoutah – 2022)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
King is among the better prospects in southern Illinois. The Mascoutah lead guard has quality size and length. When his motor is running he is so fun to watch slither through defenses making acrobatic layups, hitting teammates for times, and knocking in pull up jumpers.
