Saturday’s action in the Philadelphia Catholic League saw four games and two postponements, with Archbishop Wood improving to a league-best 9-0 in PCL play this season.
The Vikings took care of business against St. Joseph’s Prep, winning 69-52 behind a 25-point performance from Rashool Diggins.
Diggins also recorded nine rebounds, seven assists, four steals and three blocks in the win. Four Archbishop Wood players finished in double figures and three finished in double figures for St. Joe’s Prep.
[player_tooltip player_id="990940" first="Daeshon" last="Shepherd"] and [player_tooltip player_id="990944" first="Marcus" last="Randolph"], the two best scorers on the Vikings, finished the game with 12 and 14 points respectively, with Randolph recording seven rebounds and six assists for a near triple-double performance.
Devon Prep improved to 6-3 in the conference, eclipsing its PCL win totals from its first two years combined, with a 62-39 win over Lansdale Catholic.
IV Pettit led the Tide on Saturday with 19 points in the victory, filling up the state sheet with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals as well.
Pettit was one of two Devon Prep players to score in double-figures for the game as [player_tooltip player_id="991126" first="Chris" last="Patton"] put up 11 points for the Tide.
Lansdale Catholic was out-scored 32-18 in the second half, which put the nail in the coffin after trailing just 30-22 at halftime.
Bishop McDevitt took down Archbishop Carroll 72-57 in what was a blow-out to start as McDevitt took a 37-20 lead into halftime.
[player_tooltip player_id="991137" first="Hunter" last="Healy"] took over for the Royal Lancers on Saturday, putting up a 21-point, 14-rebound double-double, the points being a season-high for Healy and a game-high in the 17-point victory.
Archbishop Carroll ended up having all five of its starters score in double-figures in the loss, but just four bench points were the big difference. AC was led by Caleb Carter, who recorded an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double.
The final game to recap was a close battle between West Catholic and Conwell-Egan, but the Burrs pulled out a 53-45 win for their second win in PCL play this season.
West Catholic had a balanced scoring attack in the win, with five players scoring seven points or more and six scoring five points or more.
[player_tooltip player_id="1122112" first="Kareem" last="Watson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="990958" first="Eric" last="Chamberlain"] led the Burrs with nine points each. Conwell-Egan was led by [player_tooltip player_id="990965" first="Donald" last="Imo"]’s 22-point, 10-rebound double-double in the loss.
