Fab 40 Middle School Showcase Top Performers (Part 3)

Jacksonville, NC — The annual Fab 40 Middle School Showcase brought out some of the top middle schoolers from Eastern North Carolina this past Saturday. Anthony Bruton does a great job every year on bringing in talent to Jacksonville for the day and I was lucky enough to be there and got a good head start on some of the younger talent in the state. Below is the third and final piece featuring some of the top performers from the event. Check out part one and and part two!

Jermaine Cunningham | Swansboro, NC | Class of 2025

Cunningham is built with an impressive frame that caught my attention right away. I walked away impressed with his ball handling skills as he was constantly getting past defenders and getting out in transition well. One thing I really liked in particular was how patient he is with the basketball as he does not force anything. Cunningham has the chance to be a good playmaker at the high school level.

Isaiah Godley | Greenville, NC | Class of 2025

Godley definitely deserves to be in consideration as one of the top two way players from the showcase. Standing at 6’3, Godley already has good length and strength which allows him to be a versatile player on both ends of the ball. He can really shoot the ball from multiple areas from the floor and finished with an average of 10 points per game while shooting at a 50% clip on the day.

J’quarious Carr | Goldsboro, NC | Class of 2025

Nobody used theis size as an advantage as much as Carr did on Saturday. Carr is a big bodied 6’5 forward that bullied his way around the rim. He has a soft touch on his shot and was absolutely dominating in the low post offensively. He even showed that given the opportunity he can make a shot from the perimeter as he is confident in his jumper. As Carr continues to get older, he will need to take care of his body so he can be the type of prospect that turns heads at the next level.

Dashaun McKoy | Ivanhoe, NC | Class of 2025

When discussing the top playmakers from the Fab 40 Showcase, McKoy definitely belongs in that conversation. McKoy is a 6’2 wing that has a solid frame for an 8th grader. He is a good slasher and does a great job of adjusting to what the defense is doing to score the basketball. He was constantly attacking the basket and finishing while absorbing contact. He also has a nice looking jumper that can stretch out to the perimeter. With him continuing to grow, he will be a good defensive prospect too and will be able to guard multiple positions at the next level.

AJ Gladieux | Dunn, NC | Class of 2025

Gladieux was one of my favorite players to watch this past weekend and definitely was a fan favorite. His size certainly does not stand out right away but that does not matter for the quick 5’10 point guard. He is very shifty and uses his speed and quickness to separate from defenders at a high level. From the two games I saw from him, he displayed a high basketball IQ and is a guy that will make a lot of winning plays for his team.
