Still, several of the League’s hoops programs managed to get out on the court and compete. Those runs produced several fantastic performances from Central League prospects.

Prep Hoops is here to highlight those outstanding individual performances in southeastern Pennsylvania’s Central League (District 1).

Nick Colucci – 6’3’’ / Senior / Haverford / Point-Forward: Colucci was a key role player on Haverford’s 2019-20 Central League Championship team. This season Colucci has elevated his game and become a great sidekick for leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id="990994" first="John" last="Seidman"]. Colucci notched 12 points vs Springfield as Haverford rallied from 10 down to win (Haverford’s defense held Springfield to 21 points over the final three quarters of play.). Then Colucci posted another dozen points in a W for the Fords over Marple Newtown and 10points during a victory against Penncrest.

Sam Davison – 5’10’’ / Senior / Lower Merion / Shooting Guard: Davison continues to show no ill effects from the torn ACL he suffered last season. He scored 17 points including 6 for 6 from the charity stripe in the 4th quarter in a win over Garnet Valley. The senior then hit for 14 points in a win over Springfield as LM ran their record to 8-2.

[player_tooltip player_id="991049" first="Luke" last="Edwards"] – 6’2’’/ Senior / Strath Haven / Shooting Guard: A 2019-20 1st Team All-League selection, Edwards is having another great season. After a solid 12 point effort vs Haverford, Edwards has taken his scoring up a notch. He posted 23 points (8 in 4th Quarter) against Marple Newtown and then 20 against Harriton. Haven brought home wins in both of those contests.

[player_tooltip player_id="991216" first="Demetrius" last="Lilley"] – 6’9’’ / Junior / Lower Merion / Forward-Center: Lilley scored 16 points in a huge league win over Garnet Valley. Next the Central League’s “big fella” threw up another double-double. This time it was a 20 and 10 performance that pushed the Aces (8-2) to a victory over Springfield.

Eric McKee – 6’0” / Junior / Marple Newtown / Small Forward: McKee notched a solid 13 & 6 stat line against Strath Haven. But it’s his performance against Lower Merion that has all the hoop heads talking. McKee tallied 19 points in a historic upset of the LM Aces. The victory was first time in 10 years that MN has defeated the Central League basketball juggernaut. McKee ended his recent stretch of excellent play with 6 points, 6 boards and 4 dimes in a win over Ridley.

Gannon McKee – 6’3” / Senior / Garnet Valley / Small Forward: Operating out of the high post and behind the arc (2 threes), McKee scored 13 points in GV’s win over Radnor. However, it was his work on the boards (11 rebounds) against Radnor that really had fans taking. Ohh yeah, McKee also handed out 5 dimes in the victory. Then in a win over a feisty Springfield team McKee recorded 11 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="990991" first="Carl" last="Schaller"] – 5’10” / Senior / Garnet Valley / Point Guard: The reigning Central League MVP (18.9 ppg in 2019-20) is making a very strong case for taking home back-to-back MVP awards. Schaller posted 20 in a loss to Lower Merion. Then he posted 16 points (12 in 2nd half) in a win over Radnor and 18 during a W over Springfield. The Jaguars record now stands at 11-3.ww
