<p>Prep Hoops finished up the day on Monday at Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach with the host Saints playing the Bobcats from Lake City. This SCISA Class 2A region contest will be the last home game of the year for the Saints before the SCISA State Playoffs start this coming Saturday. This game was back and forth all game long. </p>

<p>Carolina Academy came in and took a 28-24 lead heading into the halftime break after <strong>Matthew Joye</strong> connected on a three pointer from 24 feet before the buzzer sounded. The Saints trailed until the 4th quarter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930642" first="Fisher" last="Darden"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="987980" first="Quadir" last="Scott"]</strong> made back to back basket to give them the lead 47-43 with 4:34 left. The Saints would hold on and end up winning 55-52 on Betsy Butler Court on Monday evening. </p>
<p><strong>Darden was Great: </strong></p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="930642" first="<strong>Fisher" last="Darden</strong>"] came to play on Monday night for the Saints. Darden a junior guard finished the game with 26 points and on the way was able to take some charges on the defensive end. Darden a good sized guard connected on a few three pointers while showing a nice pull-up jumper. Darden sees the floor very well from out of the top of the key with the ball in his hands. </p>
<p><strong>The Lefty Crew: </strong></p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930602" first="Seth" last="DeBruhl"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="987980" first="Quadir" last="Scott"]</strong> both left-handed guards on the Saints roster didn’t have great nights. The Saints moving forward need these duo to pick it up. Debruhl finished with 8 points while connecting on (3-13) while Scott scored 7 points on (2-10) from the floor. The Saints need this duo to make a good run in the SCISA State Tourney.</p>
<p><strong>Bobcats Trio: </strong></p>

<p><strong>Matthew Joye</strong>, <strong>Matt Gaskins</strong> and <strong>Cade Castles</strong> all kept the visiting Bobcats close in the game. Joye a senior guard and a quarterback on the football field finished with 18 points. Gaskins was able to drop some short jumpers around the basket all night long on his way to 10 points. Castles was a loose change guy who ran the floor well for the Bobcats. This Bobcats trio provided 37 points on the night. </p>
<p><strong>Fulford playing last home game: </strong></p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id="927521" first="<strong>Lawton" last="Fulford</strong>"] celebrated a birthday on Monday along with playing his last home game on Betsy Butler Court it looks like. Fulford a 4 year varsity winner for the Saints is closing in on his high school career. Fulford finished the night with just 5 points but showed good leadership and really didn’t look to score as much tonight while getting his teammates involved and securing the win.</p>
<p>Fulford has played 8 years of varsity basketball dating back to 4 years at North Myrtle Beach Christian before transferring over to the Saints. Fulford first saw action as a 6th grader for the Stallions. Fulford has compiled 176 career games and scored 1,547 career points in his high school career. Fulford is averaging 9.4 ppg this season for the (11-5) Saints. </p>
<p><strong>Region Breakdown: </strong></p>
<p>Dillon Christian won the region this season (13-0) and (18-3) under Head Coach Bo Stone. </p>
<p>Pee Dee Academy looks to be locked in for the 2nd spot while the Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach Saints finish in 3rd place. </p>
