Cardinal Ritter Challenge: Top Standouts

<p>Prep Hoops Missouri took in the doubleheader action at Cardinal Ritter College Prep on Saturday afternoon. In the first game, CBC defeated Father Tolton in a 72-70 overtime thriller. In the second game, host Cardinal Ritter defeated Jennings 52-43.</p> <p>Here is look at some of the top standouts from the event:</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="984502" first="Rob" last="Martin"] 5’9 CBC: The 2021 point guard scored 17 points and displayed his tremendous speed and quickness in the Cadets overtime victory. He scored at all three levels and delivered a couple of nice no-look passes. His ability to stop on the dime after going full speed to hit the pull up jumper is remarkable.</p> <p>Larry Hughes, Jr 6’5 CBC: The 2022 shooting guard scored 23 points and delivered some clutch shooting in the second half, including a Corner 3 that sent the game into overtime. With his length and athleticism, he is also a solid defender and rebounder. He is starting to come into his own as a strong prospect.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="984500" first="Jevon" last="Porter"] 6’11 Father Tolton: The 2022 wing scored a team high 21 points in the overtime loss to CBC. He is a tough cover on the perimeter with his ability to shoot over any defender with his great height. He has the handles to create his own shot and he can score at all three levels. He is also an unselfish player who finds the open teammate when faced with a double team.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="984516" first="Robert" last="Lewis"] 6’8 Cardinal Ritter: The 2022 jumping jack scored 16 points in the Lions victory over Jennings. He is long and skilled and very active around the basket. He dominates the offensive boards with his quick second jump and he throws down alley-oop dunks. He has a nice shooting touch out to 15 feet and he runs the court with ease.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1045827" first="Braxton" last="Stacker"] 6’4 Cardinal Ritter: An athletic 2022 wing who scored 15 points in the victory over Jennings. He has an excellent skill set to go along with his athleticism. He had his 3-point stroke working in the first half. He has the size to score in the lane and crash the offensive boards. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="824139" first="DeMarion" last="Shanklin"] 6’2 Jennings: The 2021 guard scored a game high 24 points in the loss to Cardinal Ritter. The lefty is a smooth bucket getter with a very effective mid range jumper who will make enough:pointers when defenders back up. He does a nice job of changing  directions to get to his spots.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="824116" first="Mario" last="Fleming"] 6’3 Cardinal Ritter: A versatile 2021 wing who is a matchup problem with the physical strength to score in the low post combined with his perimeter skills. He operates well in the high post and he gets out in the Transition game. A very resourceful offensive player.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1045831" first="Justin" last="Boyer"] 6’6 Father Tolton: A versatile 2022 forward who wears multiple hats to help his team. He scored 15 points on Saturday. He can shoot the 3-pointer and attack the basket. He is a solid rebounder and passing threat.</p>
