3A State Rankings Update

<p>Across the state, various media outlets have voted to produce the most recent state basketball rankings. The 3A race has become very interesting with the number one ranked team recently getting knocked off, yet they still retained their spot at the top. Additionally, a couple of great players have found themselves stuck with tough overall records and are doing their best to lead their teams to a district tournament appearance and a tough road to the state tournament. Continue reading for a look at the 3A state rankings as well as a look at a couple of solid players from across the state.</p> <ol> <li>Snake River</li> <li>Teton</li> <li>South Fremont</li> <li>Marsh Valley</li> <li>Fruitland</li> </ol> <p><strong>Teton, Hyrum Heuseveldt and Jarom Heuseveldt: </strong>Teton has had a great season so far and they are looking to continue their winning ways in the following weeks of conference play. The Timberwolves have been off to a solid start thanks in large part to brothers Hyrum and Jarom both contributing in a lot of different ways for Teton. Hyrum has a great basketball IQ and he plays the game at a high level on both ends of the floor. He can guard the opposing teams’ best player and can dish out assists and score at will on the other end. Jarom is a knockdown shooter who can get going easily from anywhere beyond the arc. He has a ton of high school basketball left and it will be great to watch him continue to grow his game in upcoming seasons.</p> <p><strong>Fruitland, [player_tooltip player_id="919670" first="Hyrum" last="Lindsey"] and [player_tooltip player_id="969645" first="Nolan" last="Bower"]:</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="919670" first="Hyrum" last="Lindsey"] is have an excellent year for Fruitland and has produced some staggering double-doubles. He has a great offensive feel for the game and he is able to create plays for others as well as score at will for himself. He is a tremendous rebounder and he turns his boards into fast breaks and easy buckets on the other end. [player_tooltip player_id="969645" first="Nolan" last="Bower"] is a great big for Fruitland and he plays with the skills of an excellent post. He has great footwork and the ability to score with either hand at the basket. Watch for Fruitland to make a late run toward the state tournament.</p>
