The 2021 season has been full of surprises with teams getting upset to monster performances. The 2022 class is a prime example of that with numerous under the radar performers showing out despite the limitations. Here are the top 2022 under the radar prospects who have raised their stocks.

[player_tooltip player_id="901992" first="Braxton" last="Jones"], 6’0 PG Trenton Catholic

The Iron Mikes have kicked off their season with a pair of upsets and Jones is a big reason for their success. The 5’11 guard is pacing the team at 20.5 points per game and is showing his full scoring array. Jones is a marksman from deep as he buried five triples against Don Bosco Prep with four of them coming in the opening quarter. He can also break his defender down off the bounce and finish through traffic around the rim. Jones’ breakout campaign has rose his stock and it should translate into offers with more play like this.

[player_tooltip player_id="1039493" first="Elijah" last="Lewis"], 6’3 CG Watchung Hills

Lewis has erupted on the scene and is one of the breakout players in the Garden State so far this year. The 6’3 guard is averaging over 22 points and nearly 10 rebounds a game, an astonishing number since Watchung Hills already has a rebounding machine in [player_tooltip player_id="900332" first="Chad" last="Martini"]. Lewis is at his best attacking the basket from the perimeter and does not mind drawing contact. He is also a playmaker on the defensive end as he is averaging over two blocks and three steals a game. Lewis has been stuffing the stat sheet this season and his performance should have him on the radar of college programs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1013047" first="Savon" last="Myers"], 6’4 SF Manchester Township

Classmate [player_tooltip player_id="1024753" first="D’Maari" last="Brown"] has also seen his stock rise during the season, but Myers has emerged as one of the top wings in Ocean County. The 6’4 forward has a strong frame which he uses to finish through contact around the basket. Myers is more than just a slasher as he is capable of knocking down open jumpers from the perimeter. He makes plays on the defensive end and is a solid passer with two games already this season with five or more assists. Myers, Brown and [player_tooltip player_id="901948" first="Wyatt" last="Hasselbauer"] have all seen their stocks rise this season and should continue to do so as they look to make noise in the Shore Conference over the next two seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id="1034378" first="Nicholas" last="Barnes"], 6’4 CG Edison

Barnes has been on a tear to kick off the season as he leads his team in every statistical category except blocks. The 6’4 guard is smooth with the ball in his hands as he does not force the issue and plays under control. Barnes attacks the basket with a purpose and does not mind drawing contact on his way to the rim. His length allows him to defend multiple positions and is one of the better rebounding guards in the class.

Brian Herbert, 6’3 SG Robbinsville

Herbert’s stock has been trending up since the summer, but it has only gotten higher with the season under way. The 6’3 guard is a knockdown shooter from distance and he only needs a little bit of space to get his shot off. Herbert is more than just a shooter as he can handle the ball on the perimeter and get to the basket. He rips down rebounds on both ends of the floor and is an underrated shot-blocker as he opened his junior campaign with five blocks. Herbert has eclipsed the 20-point mark three times already this season and should have a couple more games like that before the end of the year.
