The 2021 Maryland/DC rankings were just recently updated and it is now time to dig in a little deeper into the rankings. In this article I will be highlighting the top five point guards from the DC area.

6’3 [player_tooltip player_id="562690" first="Ryan" last="Cornish"] | Sidwell Friends

Overall ranking: No. 10

Positional ranking: No. 3

Cornish announced his pledge to Dartmouth this past summer and I could not think of a better fit for him. Known as a shotmaker, Cornish has also established himself as a solid playmaker at the lead guard position. Look for him to be a strong player in the Ivy League in the years to come.

5’9 [player_tooltip player_id="775329" first="Michael" last="Aiken"] | Thurgood Marshall

Overall ranking: No. 10

Positional ranking: No. 3

Aiken definitely would have been a player that would have benefitted from a senior season as he was coming off a really good summer with the New World program.

5’5 [player_tooltip player_id="902057" first="Rasheed" last="Dupree"] | KIPP

Dupree has been winning games all throughout his high career because of his toughness. He might be only 5'5 but that does not get to the tough lead guard.

Overall ranking: No. 82

Positional ranking: No. 19

5’9 [player_tooltip player_id="902082" first="Jasir" last="Tremble"] | Theodore Roosevelt

Tremble has been playing his best basketball within the last year and is certainly a name to monitor once play in the area resumes again.

Overall ranking: No. 129

Positional ranking: No. 31

6’2 [player_tooltip player_id="954246" first="Nasir" last="Best"] | Woodrow Wilson

Best might not be the most talked about player for Wilson but he does a lot for them on both ends of the floor. Best is a capable defender that can defend at a high level.

Overall ranking: No. 130

Positional ranking: No. 32
