Top Performers from Idaho Falls Metro

<p>This past week had some great basketball in the Idaho Falls Metro. Let’s take a look at the games where the players’ took it upon themselves to be focal points in the game. These are the top performers from this past week as well as a look ahead to games to keep an eye-on this weekend. </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="919703" first="James" last="Bodily"]’s dominance for North Gem</strong></p>
<p>Bodily has been an absolute superstar for North Gem. He never takes a night off and North Gem had back-to-back games against Grace Lutheran and Grace. Bodily ensured his presence would be felt with 21 points on both nights to help North Gem go 2-0 this week. </p>
<p><strong>Battle of Stars</strong></p>
<p><em><strong>January 13th</strong></em></p>
<p>Braden Permann of Rockland was in a scoring duel with Spieth from Raft River. Permann has been a versatile scorer finishing with 26 points, he was able to dominate inside and out. Spieth for Raft River was getting to the rim at will in the second half to keep the game close. Rockland would hold on to win 63-55. </p>
<p><em><strong>January 14th</strong></em></p>
<p>Guard-play was on full-display this past Thursday night as Brittan Bergholm for Soda Springs and [player_tooltip player_id="969492" first="Bryler" last="Shurtliff"] for West Side. Both guards showed their ability to score on-and-off the ball. There ability to catch-and-shoot as well as put the ball on the floor. Bergholm of Soda Springs may have outdueled Shurtliff in scoring beating him 23 to 20 but Shurtliff got the last laugh with the victory 76-65. </p>
<p><strong>Performances that may have gone Unnoticed</strong></p>
<p><em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="969736" first="Tom" last="Simpson"] scores over half of team’s points</strong></em></p>
<p>Malad had a rough night offensively in a defensive battle against Bear Lake this past Thursday night except for one young man. [player_tooltip player_id="969736" first="Tom" last="Simpson"] went out and scored 18 of the team’s 30 points and was the only one keeping Malad in the game. They ended up losing 42-30 but Simpson did not losing them the game. </p>
<p><em><strong>Balanced Attack of Marsh Valley</strong></em></p>
<p>At South Fremont, Marsh Valley’s ball movement and team effort clicked in a big win. Three players lead the charge for Marsh Valley’s 71-52 dominant victory. </p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="969659" first="Cody" last="Hansen"] had 18 points, [player_tooltip player_id="919677" first="Bracken" last="Howell"] had 15 and Stanton Howell had 12 to lead the all-around team effort. </p>
