Coming into the game Grand Forks Red River had a 1-7 record. Fargo Davies came into this one with a 5-3 record. The Eagles are currently riding a 3-game win streak.

This one was closer than the final score indicates. Red River had the lead for a bit in the second half and appeared to be on a roll. The Eagles snatched the momentum away and went on an offensive rebounding frenzy with multiple put backs. It was a competitive entertaining game on both ends. The Eagles made the plays when they needed them to put this one away. The Roughriders have a bright future with their young talent.

Halftime Score – Grand Forks Red River 30 Fargo Davies 34

Final Score – Grand Forks Red River 60 Fargo Davies 71

Here are the top players from today’s game:

1. [player_tooltip player_id="1046343" first="Latrel" last="Davis"] (2021) |6-3 G| Fargo Davies – He is a long athlete that is good when going to the basket. Latrel is a smooth and gifted finisher around the rim. He seems to glide past defenders and avoid contact when he is attacking. It is a tough task to stop him once he gets going downhill. He dominated early in the game slashing and finished the game putting in buckets in transition. Latrel looks like he has the potential to be an elite defender. He finished with 14 points in the game.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="1115649" first="Zachary" last="Kraft"] (2023) |5-10 G| Grand Forks Red River – He is one of the best up-and-coming guards in North Dakota. I was impressed with his pull-up 3-point jumper going to his left early in the game. Zach is a quick guard with great handles. He is a high-level pure shooter from beyond the arc. He showed off his solid footwork on a spot-up corner three-pointer. Zach can score from other parts of the floor beside the arc. Zach can finish at the rim and he showed that he can make contested runners in traffic. He scored 15 points and three triples in the game.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="812222" first="Paine" last="Parks"] (2022) |6-3 G| Grand Forks Red River – He is one of the more underrated players in the EDC. Paine is a big strong thick guard. He looks like he could be a junior in college, not in high school. I was impressed with his up-and-under step through finish. He has an effective spin-move. I like how he sees the floor and finds the open man when driving. He is a grinder and strong rebounder. Paine follows his shot well which leads to easy putbacks. I liked his pull-up jumper and floater. His best play might have been when he grabbed the defensive rebound, dribbled coast to coast, and finished with a layup on the other end. He finished the game with 16 points and one triple.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="731870" first="Owen" last="Hektner"] (2021) |6-7 F| Fargo Davies – I liked the fact that he posted up today and did more work inside. He had a nice finish after a back screen lob. Owen has a quality 15-foot jumper that he elevates well with. His height and athleticism make him a difficult matchup. He finished the contest with 18 points and 2 made triples.

5. Reis Rowekamp (2023) |6-2 G| Grand Forks Red River – He had a nice start to the game, opening it up with a three-pointer. Reis made an impressive spin-move fade away jumper. He showed great balance and strength. Reis looks to be an advantageous slasher with a fluid jumper. He finished the game with 10 points, and one made triple.

6. Mason Klabo (2025) |5-10 G| Fargo Davies – He has a mature looking shot for an 8th grader. It does not take long for Mason to get his shot off. He had an impressive pass through the zone that led to an easy basket for his teammate. Mason swished an impressive triple in the second half with a defender right in his grill. He finished with 11 points and three triples.

7. Carter Byron (2023) |6-5 F| Grand Forks Red River – I was impressed with his rebounding on the offensive glass. He is good in the screen-and-roll game. Carter moves well without the basketball. He has good strong hands. I like the way he finishes at the cup. He scored 12 points in the game.

8. [player_tooltip player_id="812229" first="Ian" last="Motschenbacher"] (2022) |6-0 G| Fargo Davies – I was impressed with how he is not afraid of contact. He is a sneaky finisher around the basket. He can hit the 3 from beyond the arc. I like his confidence. He finished with 8 points and one made triple.

9. Jacob Prudhomme (2021) |6-3 F| Fargo Davies – A strong post player who made an impact as soon as he got in the game. He was a monster on the O-boards. Jacob had a nice rebound tip-in and another aggressive O-rebound put back. He also had an athletic blocked shot. Jacob finished with 8 points, all of them in the second half.

10. Max Froslie (2023) |6-6 F| Fargo Davies – He is a tall lanky player with a gigantic wingspan. Max is a slick finisher around the basket. He is a rim protector. Max is an underrated young forward. He scored 6 points in the game with one triple.

11. [player_tooltip player_id="1135517" first="Brady" last="McQuillan"] (2022) |5-10 G| Grand Forks Red River – He is a quick guard with good ball skills. Brady is a hustler and an aggressive player. I liked his floater/runner. Brady can also shoot the 3-ball. He scored 5 points in the game.

12. [player_tooltip player_id="1050247" first="Raymond" last="Brown"] (2023) |5-11 G| Fargo Davies – He has a quick crossover and changes speeds well. Raymond has quick feet that make him a good on-ball defender.
