Thursday’s Championship Game Standouts

<p>The Prep Hoops Missouri Magical Stream Machine took a look at five holiday tournament championship games on Thursday night. Here is a look at some top standouts from those championship games.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="583707" first="Aminu" last="Mohammed"] 6’5 Greenwood: The Georgetown recruit had 24 points and 12 rebounds  in leading the Bluejays to a hard-fought victory over Republic to repeat as Gold Division champions of the Blue &amp; Gold Tournament. He was in attack mode early as he scored 10 points in the first quarter and set an early tone. As Republic made its challenges, Aminu would respond with a tough drive for a bucket and an offensive putback when his team needed it. It was a very business-like performance to get the win.</p> <p>D.J. Prater 6’2 South Iron: The 2022 lefty slashed his way to 22 points in the Panthers 63-43 victory over host Park Hills Central in the championship game of the Bob Sechrest Jr Tournament. He was very aggressive from the beginning as he attacked the basket and got out in transition. He was finishing at the rim with confidence.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="986468" first="Braden" last="Branstetter"] 6’3 Hartville: The 2021 guard had a big day with 19 points in the Eagles victory over Nixa in the Blue Division championship game of the Blue &amp; Gold Tournament. In addition to making a pair of 3-pointers, he was very effective on his drives to the basket. He was also a solid position defender.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1045828" first="Deuce" last="Roberts"] 6’6 St. Michael de Archangel: The 2022 combo guard completed a big week by sinking the game winner at the buzzer to give the Guardians a 76-75 victory over Smithville in the championship game of the LeBlond Tournament. He scored 18 points as he displayed his smooth three-level scoring ability and handles.</p> <p>Brad Schram 6’1 Smithville: The 2021 wing was on fire as he hit a LeBlond Tournament record seven 3-pointers in the narrow loss to SMA in the championship game. He was especially clutch in the fourth quarter when he hit five treys with the game in the balance. He finished with 23 points.</p> <p>Cole Jones 5’10 Hollister: The 2021 guard scored 21 points in the Tigers 52-50 overtime victory over Forsyth in the championship game of the Morris Bros. Tournament at Walnut Grove. With standout teammate Josh Barlow being face-guarded much of the game, Jones came through with some timely buckets and some key free throws in the overtime period.</p>
