Breaking down the top individual performances from our in-person evaluations from the beginning of the week...

[player_tooltip player_id="701973" first="Grant" last="Asman"] - 2021 - F - Kimberly

Asman made sure Kimberly put the hammer down early against Appleton North. The Lipscomb commit had 16 points in the first half, tearing up North’s zone. Asman was the decision maker in the high post and at the top of the key. If defenders didn’t get out to him, Asman let it fly from 3-point range. He was able to see over the top of the zone and skip passes across the floor to open 3-point shooters. After being a role player for the Papermakers last season, Asman has really come into his own as a senior. He’s showing tremendous confidence as a shooter whether its in the pick n’ pop game or even getting up the floor in transition and letting it fly.

[player_tooltip player_id="1035872" first="Jackson" last="Dudek"] - 2021 - PF - Kimberly

Really like the progression Dudek is showing this season. With all the talent Kimberly has, Dudek could be their x-factor in the playoffs as a guy teams just can’t account for. The 6-foot-8 forward is a strong and mobile prospect who’s getting more versatile by the way. He’s been improving drastically with his ability to handle the ball in the half court and even in transition. Dudek has soft reliable hands as well, able to reel in passes in traffic and knows how to use the rim to shield off shot blockers. Also an explosive athlete and a strong interior defender, Dudek has tools to allow him to play early at Northern Michigan.

[player_tooltip player_id="801151" first="Carson" last="Leuzinger"] - 2022 - G - Monroe

Leuzinger had 21 points in a win over Janesville Craig. The junior guard scores it equally well on and off the ball. On Monday, it was his ability to come off screens and move without the ball that led to a big scoring burst. Leuzinger can score going to his left or right. Leuzinger was extremely fluid with his release and catching knowing it was going up and going in. The 5-foot-11 guard also has a deadly mid-range game. Leuzinger has some serious combination moves on the ball to get defenders off their feet and/or out of position.

[player_tooltip player_id="801136" first="Maximus" last="Nelson"] - 2022 - F - Appleton North

There are not many guys in this state who have to work harder for buckets in high level games than Nelson. Teams at the top of the FVA are so much deeper than Appleton North right now where they can commit extra defenders to Nelson on every touch, they’ll simply ride him off the 3-point line off the ball and swam the paint on every post touch. In the same breath, if the Lightning want to hang around in these games, Nelson can’t afford to be unselfish and has to take tough shots. Give Nelson a lot of credit despite a blowout loss at Kimberly -- almost everything he got was contested and a low percentage shot. Nelson still finished with a game-high 25 points. Nelson had to work his tail off, constantly fighting off the ball to even gain possession. He was able to drill a lot of tough shots with a hand in his face.

[player_tooltip player_id="801149" first="Jackson" last="Paveletzke"] - 2022 - G - Kimberly

When all is said and done, Paveletzke very well may be a top five prospect in the 2022 class. In fact, I think there’s a pretty good case as of today. If he were 6-foot-2 or bigger, it wouldn’t even be a question. Maybe the most lethal scoring juniors in Wisconsin, Paveletzke has all the tools on the ball and just knows how to score against any defense. The way he can operate at top-end speed just leaves defenders helpless. Even if his first move is stopped, Paveletzke can get to his secondary moves in the blink of an eye. Paveletzke is as equally dangerous off the ball. The opposition knows they can’t let him get loose for catch-and-shoot opportunities, yet there’s Paveletzke generating rhythm jumpers, sometimes with no one in the vicinity. As good of a scorer as he is, Paveletzke can burn teams as a facilitator. He sees the whole floor, makes the right basketball plays, operates within the team’s system, and operates like a surgeon when picking apart a defense.

[player_tooltip player_id="994505" first="Angelo" last="Rizzo"] - 2021 - SG - Janesville Craig

One of the top shot makers in the 2021 class, Rizzo had 22 points for the Cougars in a loss to Monroe. Using a high release and some creativity off the bounce, Rizzo has go-to scoring ability at the next level. Rizzo has exceptional positional size at 6-foot-5 and has a knack for drilling shots with a hand in his face. Rizzo also rebounds well for his position. Still on the market, Rizzo looks like a strong Division 3 prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="801147" first="J.T." last="Seagreaves"] - 2022 - F - Monroe

Seagreaves could make a nice move up the rankings after Monday’s performance. When he’s playing at that level, Monroe looks like a state title contender. A strong, athletic, versatile post prospect, Seagreaves can deliver in a variety of ways. The 6-foot-6 forward has some scary above the rim athleticism. He glides in the air with ease, despite adding plenty of noticeable muscle since last season. That added strength comes in handy around the rim. Seagreaves put the ball on the deck and knocked defenders out of the way. He was also able to out-tough people on the offensive glass. Also a solid 3-point shooter that can space the floor, Seagreaves will make defenders pay who don’t get out to the perimeter and close with a hand up.
