<p>Take a look at the Week 9 NCISAA Top 10 Power Rankings as three new teams enter the Top 10 Power Rankings as NCISAA Conference play heats up. The Cougars, Kings and Cougars hold their spots, but there lurks some competition as teams are on winning streaks.</p>
<h5>1. Carmel Christian Cougars (15-1)</h5>
<h6>Last Rank: 1st</h6>
<p>The Carmel Christian Cougars haven't lost a game since Nov. 27 and carry a nine-game winning streak into this week's rankings. With wins over Charlotte Christian (<strong>7th ranked in the PrepHoopsNC NCISAA Power Rankings</strong>) and Durham Academy since the last edition of rankings, the Cougars are looking like the top team to beat in 4A ranks of the NCISAA. In a one-point victory over Charlotte Christian, [player_tooltip player_id="1008879" first="Cade" last="Tyson"] came up huge with 21 points (11-of-13 FTs) to lead the offensive attack. He also had 11 rebounds. Junior guard <strong>Julian Arias </strong>had six assists, five steals, four rebounds along with five points as well. They're finding ways to get victories and continue as they look to win the 4A NCISAA Title. They'll face Asheville School and [player_tooltip player_id="848059" first="DeAnte" last="Green"] in an MLK Day Showcase game on Monday at 12:00PM. </p>
<h5>2. Victory Christian Center Kings (16-4)</h5>

<p>The Victory Christian Center Kings are 3-2 since the last edition of power rankings though their two losses come against out-of-state foes in Victory Rock Prep and IMG Academy. Their three victories: Charlotte Latin, Lake Norman Christian and North Christian. [player_tooltip player_id="1028024" first="Demar" last="Anderson"] posted 28 points, three assists and three rebounds on 10-of-14 shooting and four made threes against Lake Norman Christian. [player_tooltip player_id="1103910" first="Lewis" last="Duarte"] was right behind him with 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting and two made threes along with three rebounds and two assists. [player_tooltip player_id="1013056" first="Takai" last="Simpkins"] chipped in with 13 points, five assists and three rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id="1013055" first="Tajuan" last="Simpkins"] chipped in with seven points and <strong>Deiman Reyes</strong> had nine rebounds and a block. Up next for them this week: Liberty Heights on Monday, Woodlawn on Tuesday then United Faith Christian Academy (<strong>6th ranked team in the PrepHoopsNC NCISAA Power Rankings</strong>) on Friday.</p>
<h5>3. Cannon School Cougars (16-4)</h5>
<h6>Last Rank: 3rd</h6>
<p>The Cannon School Cougars have won four games in a row including an 84-56 victory over Charlotte Christian (<strong>7th ranked in the PrepHoopsNC NCISAA Power Rankings)</strong> on Saturday to continue their trek as repeat NCISAA 4A State Champions. They got 29 points, five rebounds and four assists from [player_tooltip player_id="577868" first="DJ" last="Nix"]. [player_tooltip player_id="932457" first="Jarvis" last="Moss"] posted 21 points and six assists. [player_tooltip player_id="848077" first="Karon" last="Boyd"] finished with 16 points and five rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id="577877" first="Christian" last="Reeves"] nearly had a triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and eight blocks. [player_tooltip player_id="721036" first="Elijah" last="Ormiston"] also had nine rebounds. They've won two more games including Charlotte Christian and Providence Day School since taking a loss at the Beach Ball Classic. They've got Covenant Day on Tuesday.</p>
<h5>4. Burlington School Spartans (13-2)</h5>
<h6>Last Rank: 6th</h6>
<p>The Burlington School Spartans continue their climb up the PrepHoopsNC NCISAA Power Rankings as they moved up to the 4th spot. With wins over High Point Christian Academy, Greensboro Day School and Winston-Salem Christian National, the Spartans are rolling as things heats up for them at the 2A level. With no conference play for them, they're at the mercy of the win-loss column. With [player_tooltip player_id="838021" first="Jamarii" last="Thomas"] leading the way though, they're in good hands. He's got [player_tooltip player_id="838020" first="Kuluel" last="Mading"], [player_tooltip player_id="1032838" first="Ryan" last="Roberts"] and others playing at a high level. They've won seven games in a row and counting with Henderson Collegiate and Moravian Prep up next, two scrappy opponents in the state. </p>
<h5>5. Wayne Country Day Chargers (13-1)</h5>

<p>The Wayne Country Day School Chargers enter the ranks after being in the last edition's Honorable Mention. They've won five games since the last edition of power rankings, showcasing their talented backcourt of [player_tooltip player_id="574440" first="Mike" last="Best"], [player_tooltip player_id="533552" first="Jaden" last="Cooper"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1050009" first="Carlos" last="Raven"] and frontcourt of [player_tooltip player_id="838050" first="Vante" last="Hutcherson"] and junior <strong>Dre Ervin. </strong>The trio of Best/Cooper/Raven averaging roughly 18.9 apg combined this season while still averaging double-figures in scoring. Best has three triple-doubles on the season while Cooper has two triple-doubles on the season. They're a stat-sheet stuffing bunch when they're on the floor. Hutcherson's got 10 double-doubles while averaging 11.7 ppg and 12.9 rpg on the season. Cooper, who's headed to Colombia, has nine double-doubles. They should make some noise at the 2A level when NCISAA Playoffs arrive and are 4-0 in Coastal Plain Conference action already.</p>
<h5>6.United Faith Christian Academy Falcons (11-3)</h5>
<h6>Last Rank: 9th</h6>
<p>With a 3-1 record since the last edition, the United Faith Christian Academy Falcons are another team that's climbing up the power rankings. [player_tooltip player_id="932142" first="Landon" last="Johnson"] has been a solid new addition. He put up 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the floor along with eight rebounds in a win over Covenant Classical. [player_tooltip player_id="1105085" first="Quinton" last="Scheuermann"] also had 14 points (6-of-6 shooting) and 10 rebounds, his third double-double of the season. They did take a loss to Lake Norman Christian on Jan. 15 but got 40 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field and 19-of-21 shooting from the free throw line. He also had 14 rebounds, five blocks, three assists and three steals. They'll face The Christ School on Monday then Victory Christian Center <strong>(2nd ranked team in the PrepHoopsNC NCISAA Power Rankings) </strong>on Friday.</p>
<h5>7. Greensboro Day School Bengals (13-5)</h5>
<h6>Last Rank: 4th</h6>
<p>The Greensboro Day School Bengals are 3-1 since the last edition of rankings with a loss to The Burlington School <strong>(4th ranked in the PrepHoopsNC NCISAA Power Rankings) </strong>on Saturday. They're still 2-0 in the Triad Conference with games left to go against some top teams to boost their stock in the rankings. [player_tooltip player_id="577888" first="Jaydon" last="Young"] leads the way on the wing while [player_tooltip player_id="848080" first="Michael" last="Zanoni"] and [player_tooltip player_id="887046" first="Tyler" last="Lundblade"] are finding their way off the ball. [player_tooltip player_id="577847" first="Nikolas" last="Graves"] is another prospect to keep an eye on as well as he gets more aggressive getting to the rim. </p>
<h5>8. Charlotte Christian Knights (7-3)</h5>
<h6>Last Rank: 5th</h6>
<p>The Charlotte Christian Knights have taken a few losses since the last edition of rankings, going 1-3 with losses to Cannon School (<strong>3rd in the PrepHoopsNC NCISAA Power Rankings</strong>), Greensboro Day School (<strong>7th ranked in the PrepHoopsNC NCISAA Power Rankings</strong>) and Carmel Christian <strong>(1st ranked in the PrepHoops NC NCISAA Power Rankings). </strong>They fell just 66-65 to Carmel Christian back on Jan. 7, with [player_tooltip player_id="998228" first="Cade" last="Nicholson"], <strong>Cade Preston</strong> and [player_tooltip player_id="854884" first="Bryce" last="Cash"] combining for 39 points. As they get back and get healthy look for them to make some noise when the NCISAA 4A Playoffs arrive. They've got some time off before regrouping on Jan. 26.</p>
<h5>9. Northside Christian Academy Knights (12-3)</h5>

<p>The Northside Christian Academy Knights make their debut in the Top 10 power rankings since winning five games in a row. [player_tooltip player_id="838062" first="Glynn" last="Hubbard III"] and Wesley Tubbs III are an exciting duo on the wing while [player_tooltip player_id="1117609" first="Daniel" last="Lubamba"] shows off his ability on the defensive end. They've also added [player_tooltip player_id="1008900" first="Jahseem" last="Felton"], a rising 2024 prospect to the mix which should give them some added depth. They've got a game with Thursday against Carmel Christian <strong>(1st ranked in the PrepHoopsNC NCISAA Power Rankings) </strong>but before that, they'll face SouthLake Christian Academy on Tuesday. </p>
<h5>10. Trinity Academy Raleigh Tigers (5-0) </h5>

<p>The Trinity Academy Raleigh Tigers find themselves in the ranks after being in the last edition's Honorable Mention. They're a squad led by Towson commit [player_tooltip player_id="931600" first="Tyler" last="Gill"], [player_tooltip player_id="848082" first="Noah" last="Ross"], [player_tooltip player_id="838046" first="Sam" last="Perez"] and [player_tooltip player_id="944974" first="Jakwon" last="Moore"] among others. Ross put up 30 points and 10 rebounds against Cary Academy this past Thursday. This week, they'll face Heritage on Tuesday and Burling Christian Academy on Friday. </p>
<h5>Honorable Mention</h5>
<h6>High Point Christian Academy (9-4) - The Cougars took losses to Piedmont Classical and The Burlington School to drop out the power rankings, but there's still room for them to climb back up, given some teams have games to make up.</h6>

<h6>Lake Norman Christian (8-5) - [player_tooltip player_id="992474" first="Mikey" last="Williams"] averaged 30.6 ppg while shooting 57 percent from the field and going 15-of-25 from deep this past week.</h6>

<h6>Cape Fear Christian Academy (14-6) - Dropped out of the the Power Rankings as the #10 team but they've still got room to grow with games to play.</h6>

<h6>Davidson Day (9-2) - They've won three games in a row with [player_tooltip player_id="838039" first="Blane" last="St. Clair"], [player_tooltip player_id="848076" first="Donovan" last="Atwell"] and [player_tooltip player_id="854899" first="Trey" last="Horton"] doing work for them on the hardwood.</h6>

<h6>Rabun Gap (10-3) - Reid Carrier, [player_tooltip player_id="1104212" first="Ricardas" last="Butkus"], Nfari Benjamin and Nate Brafford are few names to know on a rotation that continues to improve; currently on a 3-game winning streak.</h6>
