The NCHSAA season is underway and prospects are starting to separate themselves. Here's a look at some unsigned senior standouts at the 3A level.

[player_tooltip player_id="1122778" first="Ayden" last="Gamble"] | 6’1 Guard | Dudley

Gamble is off to a strong start to his senior campaign following a 38-point performance against Reidsville in a 77-67 upset victory. He’s a combo guard that can finish with efficiency in the paint. He shot 14-of-26 from the field while snagging 11 rebounds and dishing out four assists against Reidsville on Jan. 12. He’s producing 26.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.0 spg and 1.7 apg through the Panthers first three games of the season. He’s the type to get the rebound and push the pace to make plays for his squad. He’s a combo guard with a ton of potential in the backcourt.

[player_tooltip player_id="932081" first="Aaron" last="Oates"] | 6’5 Forward/Wing | Northside-Jacksonville

Oates is a big reason Northside-Jacksonville is off to a 3-0 start. He’s producing 18.3 ppg, 16.0 rpg, 4.3 spg and 4.0 bpg including a big performance against White Oak back on Jan. 15. He put up 21 points, 18 rebounds, 10 blocks and six steals in a 72-55 victory. He’s got two double-doubles and a triple-double to his name as he makes waves on the hardwood flying around for blocks, rebounds and plays. He’s an athletic, versatile prospect at 6-foot-5 that can fill up the stat sheet on the wing and in the frontcourt.

[player_tooltip player_id="932119" first="Will" last="Tyndall"] | 6’5 Forward | East Chapel Hill

Tyndall has been a consistent force in the paint for East Chapel Hill. He’s putting up 17.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.7 apg and 1.2 bpg as the Wildcats are off to a 6-1 start to the 2020-21 season. He put up 28 points in a victory over Southern Durham on Jan. 16. He’s an efficient presence around the rim and has shown poise with his ability to finish in traffic, shooting 61 percent from the field. He uses his 6-foot-5 frame well to create on the block and the high-post area. As he improves his rebounding, look for his stock to grow.

[player_tooltip player_id="1122779" first="Chris" last="Hunter"] | 6’0 Guard | Cox Mill

Hunter is a strong guard prospect that does well creating off the bounce and in space. He’s producing 17.0 ppg, 4.5 apg, 4.0 rpg and 2.5 spg through their first four games of the 2020-21 campaign. He makes plays for himself and others on all three levels while shooting 63 percent from the field and 36 percent from the behind the arc this season. He posted a season-high 26 points against Concord in a 64-59 victory as well. He shot 9-of-13 from the field while also posting five rebounds, five steals and four assists in the victory. He’s a strong guard prospect worth a look by college coaches.

[player_tooltip player_id="932050" first="Jayvon" last="Mercer"] | 6’6 Forward/Wing | East Wake

Mercer has picked up where he left off a season ago, averaging 16.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg and 1.5 apg through the first six games of the 2020-21 season. He’s a mobile forward prospect that can play either forward spot and on the wing given his length and ability. He’s also knocked five 3-pointers on a 36 percent clip on the season. He’s a late-blooming prospect with a ton of promise as a versatile 3/4 prospect. He’s worth taking notice at East Wake.

[player_tooltip player_id="1122780" first="Frank" last="Stockton"] | 6’5 Forward | Dudley

Stockton is another prospect at Dudley High School that’s having a productive senior campaign. The 6-foot-5 forward is averaging 15.7 ppg, 9.0 rpg and 1.3 bpg through their first three games of the young season. He’s a forward prospect that flies around for blocks and rebounds to make an impact on the floor. He registered a double-double (18 points, 11 rebounds) in their win over Reidsville and has emerged as a presence in the frontcourt this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1122782" first="Kaylon" last="Keys"] | 5’10 Guard | Terry Sanford

Keys has emerged as a top name in the Terry Sanford rotation alongside [player_tooltip player_id="787668" first="Davis" last="Molnar"]. He’s averaging 15.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.8 apg and 1.3 spg as a part of their 6-0 start to the season. He posted a season-high 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting in a big win over Cape Fear this past Frdiay. He also had eight rebounds, two assists an two steals. He’s an active guard that can knock down shots on the perimeter but also won’t hesitate to crash the glass and make an impact. He’s another strong guard prospect to keep eyes on.

[player_tooltip player_id="572987" first="Brock" last="Bowen"] | 6’0 Shooting Guard | Weddington

Bowen has been his usual sharpshooting self in the Weddington rotation, picking up where he left off over the summer. He’s putting up 12.5 ppg while shooting 50 percent from 3-point range. He’s made 16 3-pointers in their 6-0 start to the 2020-21 campaign with four made in their win this past Thursday over Piedmont. He’s a lights-out sharpshooter that doesn’t take long to find his stroke from anywhere on the floor. Schools in need of a sure-fire shooter, look no further.

[player_tooltip player_id="1122783" first="Adonijah" last="Whitley"] | 6’4 Forward/Wing | Northern Guilford

Whitley is an unsigned senior forward that’s quietly climbing up the radar at Northern Guilford. He’s got nice length and athleticism at 6-foot-4 that he uses well in the paint and on the wing. He’s producing 11.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 1.6 spg as the Nighthawks are off to a 7-0 start. Defensively, he’s an active force on the glass and defending multiple spots on the floor. On offense, he does well cleaning the glass and finding touches in the high post. He’s a late-blooming prospect to track in the 2021 class.
