<p>The NCHSAA season is underway and the prospects at the 2A level are shining. Here's a look at some unsigned senior standouts from the past week in NCHSAA 2A play.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="932146" first="Daylan" last="Askew"] | 6’4 Guard/Wing | Hertford County</h5>
<p>Askew has filled up the stat sheet through Hertford County’s first two games as they’re 2-0 on the young, but shortened season. He’s averaging 24.5 ppg while shooting 46p ercent from the field, shooting a bit cold from behind the arc, but he’s made up for that in other ways. He’s also posting 13.0 rpg, 4.0 spg and 4.5 apg. He’s posted two double-doubles through the first two contests of 2020-21. He holds offers from Bryant & Stratton and Brunswick Community College.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="574448" first="Xavion" last="Atkinson"] | 6’3 Wing/Forward | Goldsboro</h5>
<p>Atkinson is one reason the Goldsboro Cougars are off to a 4-1 start to the 2020-21 season. He opened the season with 35 points pm 10-of-14 shooting from the field, 15 rebounds, four assists and three steals in a 79-61 victory over Midway back on Jan. 8 and hasn’t looked back. He’s putting up 20.8 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 3.4 apg, 2.8 spg and 1.2 bpg, showing off his length and athleticism in more ways than one on both ends. He’s racked up two double-doubles through their first five games. Look for him to show off his motor on both ends a lot more as the season gets going. Mount Oliver, Johnston County Community College and Fayetteville Tech have offered him.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="574470" first="Omarion" last="Blount"] | 6’2 Guard | Washington</h5>
<p>Blount is a strong guard that makes his presence felt on both ends at Washington High School. He’s posting 19.3 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 3.0 apg and 2.7 spg as the Pam Pack are off to a 2-1 start to the 2020-21 campaign. He’s shifty off the bounce and likes getting to the rim and finishing in traffic. Defensively, he uses his strength and quickness to make an impact and force turnovers. He’s posted two 20+ point games already while shooting 49 percent from the field. Look for him to make some noise on the 2A stage. He holds an offer from Wake Tech Community College.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="985566" first="Micah" last="Williams"] | 6’4 Forward/Wing | Lexington Senior</h5>
<p>Williams has been a force in the paint on both ends to start the season for the Lexington Senior Yellowjackets. He's a versatile tweener prospect at 6-foot-5 averaging 15.3 ppg, 11.0 rpg, 2.5 spg and 1.3 bpg for his squad in his senior squad. He's posted two double-doubles while snagging 16 offensive rebounds through the first four contests of the year. He's got a strong motor and knack for operating in the post that allow him to make an impact on the hardwood. He's a prospect with some talent for college coaches to get eyes on.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="984856" first="Tedric" last="Jenkins"] | 5’10 Point Guard | North Davidson</h5>
<p>Jenkins has been a solid backcourt mate alongside [player_tooltip player_id="574478" first="Jamarien" last="Dalton"] while averaging 12.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.0 apg and 1.3 spg through their first four games of the 2020-21 season. He had 17 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals while overcoming some shooting woes in a victory over Oak Grove this past Friday. He’s a prospect that’s due to find his groove and get the Black Knights in prime position for a 2A State title run. He's drawn interest from a number of college programs as well. </p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1121885" first="Paul" last="Spivey"] | 6’0 Guard | Bunn</h5>
<p>Spivey has led the way scoring and steal wise for the Bunn Wildcats in 2020-21. He's producing 15.2 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 3.0 spg and 2.0 apg through their first five games of his senior campaign. He's shooting 50 percent from the field, showing off his sound decision-making for scoring in the paint and in the mid-range area. He's not shy about getting after it on the defensive end, either. He's registered at least one steal in each game this season and opened with five against Warren County. He's a guard prospect for colleges to get a look at.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1121884" first="Jamarion" last="Dunkins"] | 6’1 Forward/Wing | JF Webb</h5>
<p>Dunkins has been one key name in the JF Webb rotation in 2020-21. He's averaging 9.8 ppg, 12.0 rpg, 2.0 apg and 1.3 bpg as a senior. He isn't shy about drawing contact and getting to the free throw line, either. He's averaging 2.8 free throw makes per game. He's got the relentless ability to be a presence on the glass on both ends, using his size and strength as well. He's an undersize forward prospect that's worth a look by colleges in need of a rebounder and post presence.</p>
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1121886" first="Jaikir" last="Fowler"] | 5’10 Guard | Goldsboro</h5>
<p>Fowler is a speedy guard in the Goldsboro backcourt that’s another big reason why for their success at 4-1. He’s posting 23.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 3.0 apg and 2.4 spg through five contests for the Cougars in 2020-21. He put up a big 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the floor while also notching four rebounds, two assists and two steals. in their win over Clinton this past Friday. He’s filled it up with efficiency this season, shooting 56 percent from the field and 46 percent from behind the arc. As a three level scorer and playmaker, he’s an unsigned senior guard worth a look for colleges in need.</p>
