Being a big guard, Roland Jr. has the ability to back down smaller guards and finish with a fadeaway. He also has the ability to finish above the rim in transition or even in halfcourt sets as he finished a ferocious dunk along the baseline in the second half. Roland Jr. is also a good shooter off the catch and a disruptor in the passing lanes. He makes this Putnam City West team very dangerous.

The two-sport athlete got the entire gym on their feet at the beginning of the game as he took a steal coast-to-coast and punched a posterizing dunk on the head of a Ponca City defender. He also later threw down a windmill dunk but it got called back due to a teammate committing an offensive foul on a Ponca City defender. Gordon is also an excellent finisher around the basket as he uses his athleticism to elevate over defenders and finish right in front of the rim.
