Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at the top players from last weekend’s Kaminsky Classic, which was held at Joplin. Webb City took home the championship trophy with a victory over Joplin. The tournament featured many quality perimeter players of all ages.

2021

Nickhai Howard 6’0 Webb City: A powerhouse point guard who has the skills to impact a game in a multitude of ways. He’s physically strong with the ball, but he is also a deft playmaker with a high basketball IQ. He is a threat to post a triple double every time he steps on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="824146" first="Logan" last="Applegate"] 6’2 Nevada: A talented shooting guard who averaged nearly 20 points a game in the tournament. He has very deep shooting range and the ball skills to create off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id="1042401" first="Bryce" last="Gelle"] 6’3 Clever: Bryce erupted for 34 points on the final day of the tournament. He was shooting from way downtown with a lot of confidence. I like how he has added other elements to his game to make him more effective.

Logan McNeley 6’2 Nevada: He has played a nice complimentary role as a strong defender for much of his career, but he has also emerged as a potent shooting threat. He had one game where he was eight of 10 from 3-point range.

Mekki Garrard 6’1 Webb City: A very solid wing player who played a big role in the Cardinals winning the championship. He scored and defended well and made a lot of hustle plays that were big for his team.

2022

[player_tooltip player_id="984953" first="Always" last="Wright"] 6’3 Joplin: A tremendous 3-point shooting threat who has assumed an even larger role this season. In addition to his shooting, he is also a primary ball handler and playmaker. He has developed multiple ways to score to compliment his perimeter shot.

Dayne Herl 6’4 William Chrisman: An athletic wing player who plays a high energy game along with his versatility. He averaged 17 points in the tournament while also rebounding aggressively and making plays.

[player_tooltip player_id="984946" first="Cohl" last="Vaden"] 5’9 Webb City: A quick point guard who really plays with a lot of pace, which suits his team’s style of play. He’s is a talented bucket-getter yet he has balanced it with his playmaking skills to keep everyone involved.

2024

All Wright 6’1 Joplin: The young shooting guard is one of the best in the state in his class. He is an excellent 3-point shooter with a quick release and the ability to get himself open. His game is very savvy and mature for a player his age.
