The start of the high school basketball season is finally here and the excitement is palpable. Teams are trying to figure in new talent alongside the returners. Group 4 is a prime example of this as it is filled with big-time talent who can make an impact at the next level. Here are the top available 2021 prospects in Group 4 this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="900353" first="Isaiah" last="Hill"], 6’3 SG Columbia

The Cougars have a talented 2023 point guard in [player_tooltip player_id="902757" first="Jalen" last="Robinson"], but they brought in more backcourt help with Hill. The Union Catholic transfer is one of the top athletes in the class as he floats through the air and loves to finish above the rim. Hill attacks the basket with a purpose and is not afraid of drawing contact. He’s more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and can put up points in bunches. Hill is a talented shooting guard whose combination of athleticism and scoring will make him a prospect to watch in Group 4 this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="900306" first="Brian" last="Johannsson"], 6’5 SG Hunterdon Central

Hunterdon Central returns a strong core from last year’s team and Johannsson is the go-to man. The 6’5 wing has a nice shooting stroke and always sets his feet before he shoots. Johannsson moves well within the flow of the offense and has the ability to get to the basket on the perimeter. He is an underrated defender and fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Johannsson is a knockdown shooter who should make an impact at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="900297" first="Tazir" last="Cantey"], 6’0 PG Eastern

The Vikings were one of the top teams in the Olympic Conference last season and they got a big addition in Cantey. The Lindenwold transfer is a bucket getter with the ability to drop 20 points on any given night. Cantey has a quick first step and knows how to finish through contact around the rim. He runs the offense very well and can knock down jumpers from distance. Cantey is a scoring machine that should have a strong senior season for Eastern.

[player_tooltip player_id="900336" first="Mike" last="Jackson"], 6’2 CG Union City

The Eagles have a big-time scorer in [player_tooltip player_id="850673" first="Maurice" last="Odum"] and they got him some help in Jackson. The Marist transfer has a quick release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Jackson is more than just a shooter as he can handle the ball on the perimeter and get to the basket. He is a strong on-ball defender and has quick hands to get steals and deflections. Jackson’s combination of shooting and defense will allow for him to make an impact at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="929528" first="Trevor" last="Bokach"], 6’4 CG Watchung Hills

The Warriors have to replace First Team All-State performer [player_tooltip player_id="896632" first="Michael" last="Bressler"] and they should get a big season from Bokach. The 6’4 guard plays with good court vision and makes smart decisions with the ball in his hands. Bokach can break his defender down off the bounce and is unafraid of drawing contact on his way to the basket. He can defend multiple positions on the floor and has a knack for getting deflections. Bokach is a two-way guard who is ready to lead Watchung Hills’ offense this season.

Other Prospects to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id="900321" first="Al-Fatir" last="Connor"], 6’0 PG Elizabeth

[player_tooltip player_id="929514" first="Zubair" last="Lee"], 6’5 SF Eastern

[player_tooltip player_id="900361" first="Anthony" last="Milligan"], 6’3 SG Franklin

[player_tooltip player_id="1016639" first="Evan" last="Perez"], 5’10 PG Elizabeth

[player_tooltip player_id="1016635" first="Joe" last="Lardaro"], 6’5 PF Freehold Township
