Jan 7th and Jan 13th I attended the Grind Session at the Phhacility.

I viewed 6 of the AZ teams in their "Bubble".

AZ Compass Prep

Bella Vista Prep

Dream City Christian

Eduprize Prep

Phhoenix Prep

Phhoenix Prep Heat

Here were some of the signed standouts on the two days:

[player_tooltip player_id="703792" first="Tyrone" last="Washington"] AZ Compass Prep

-Not many scoring lead guards better on the West Coast. He is patient and clam under pressure. He has deep NBA range plus a nasty pull-up from mid-range. He is a good rebounder for position, he defends with steals and takes charges and is the ultimate leader on the court. Creighton got a good one.

[player_tooltip player_id="1115687" first="DaRon" last="Holmes II"] AZ Compass Prep

-An athletic forward is a supreme rim runner, high level rebounder and shot blocker. He has great speed for a forward and out runs his opponents for dunks and plays good team ball. He can finish with either hand in traffic and makes good reads to teammates. Has Dayton found their next star?

[player_tooltip player_id="773471" first="Demari" last="Williams"] Dream City Christian

-A capable catch 3pt shooter who loves getting into the paint and scoring. Good out of area rebounder with his stronger build/frame and length. He is also a smart passer who plays hard. The ASU commit has a very professional approach to the game.

[player_tooltip player_id="530994" first="Javon" last="Ruffin"] Phhoenix Prep

-A true combo guard who can shoot it and acts like their secondary PG. He is a very good passer and has deep range on his shot. His pull-up off the dribble is clean and this team is exponentially better when he is on the court. Colorado got a gem.

[player_tooltip player_id="703805" first="Kiran" last="Oliver"] Phhoenix Prep

-An undersized wing has NBA 3pt range with unreal weak side blocks. He has a relentless motor to rebound and can score it many ways. He can score it on put-backs, pull-ups from mid-range and those ridiculously deep 3's from the parking lot.

[player_tooltip player_id="931377" first="Jamel" last="King"] Bella Vista Prep

-A very athletic shooter who catches lob dunks easily. He gets hot quickly and has real range on his 3-ball. He has great size for position with nice athleticism to rebound above the crowd.

[player_tooltip player_id="811095" first="Jayden" last="Nunn"] Dream City Christian

-Everything was clicking for Nunn. He is quickly turning into one of my favorite guards to watch. He is explosive and can score it from all 3 levels plus makes plays for others. He takes charges and makes many difficult contested shots that most won't even take.

[player_tooltip player_id="809672" first="Jason" last="Elder"] Phhoenix Prep

-Another with an elite motor. He rebounds out of his area consistently and keeps plays alive. His deep ball wasn't on but he scored it inside with a rip through and drives blowing by his defender.

[player_tooltip player_id="703797" first="Carson" last="Basham"] AZ Compass Prep

-An improving post player looked better then he has in the last year. He had an impressive drop step into a dunk, one of the better moves I have seen with him. He is moving better and gobbles up anything near him. He can step out and shoot it plus dominate inside.

[player_tooltip player_id="809688" first="Brett" last="Hardt Jr"] Phhoenix Prep

-A skilled shooter has good wits about him. He knows when to facilitate and when to fire away when his team needs it. His 3pt shot was on with three deep ones and his patented pull-up from mid looked good. He can cut down on his turnovers but in the same breath he made some next level passes.

[player_tooltip player_id="809680" first="Ricardo" last="Sarmiento"] Phhoenix Prep

-He was one of the players of the game in one game vs a talented Florida team. He had 18 points 7 rebounds and got to the line in bunches with hesitations and good speed. He is aggressive on the glass and hit a couple 3's off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id="706704" first="Dominic" last="Capriotti"] Phhoenix Prep

-The junior had two good games when I saw them. He hit three 3's in one game and keeps making strides with his one-dribble pull-up. He is becoming a more versatile defender defending the 2-4.
