<p>The Cedar City Showcase took place on Sunday, January 10th at the Southern Utah Sports Academy. The event featured 5 Nevada club teams and offered an excellent opportunity for players to compete and gain exposure. Several players excelled at locking up on the defensive end. in this article, we take a look at the top defenders from the event. </p>

<li>[player_tooltip player_id="928923" first="Gianni" last="Rodriguez"]<em> 6’3 SF Blue Hoops 2022 (#30PHN 2022)</em> - Used his long arms and instinct to play the passing lanes and get on ball steals. Has good defensive versatility showing the ability to defend 2 through 4.</li>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="1038162" first="Tommy" last="Brascia"] <em style="font-size: 1rem;">6’7 PF Purple Reign 2023 (#9PHN 2023)</em><span style="font-size: 1rem;"> - Played terrific low post defense. In addition to banging down low, Brascia rebounded and </span><a href="https://twitter.com/7outzbballclub1/status/1348695987498278913">proved to be the best rim protector at the event.</a></li>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="858155" first="John" last="Board"] <em style="font-size: 1rem;">6’1 SG Big Show Ballers 2021 (#21PHN 2021)</em><span style="font-size: 1rem;"> - Tough as nails, versatile defender. Board got steals as the head of the press, and when playing on ball. If that wasn’t enough, he would go down low to bang with larger guards. </span></li>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="859643" first="Shane" last="Thomas"] <em style="font-size: 1rem;">6’3 SG Purple Reign 2022 (#6PHN 2022)</em><span style="font-size: 1rem;"> - Rangy defender with good lateral quickness. Thomas was able to defend every position on the floor during the event. High school version of Ed Reed, whereas he covers up missed rotations and mistakes on the defensive end. </span></li>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="985598" first="Sean" last="Klekas"] <em style="font-size: 1rem;">6’0 PG Elko 2021 (#95PHN 2021)</em><span style="font-size: 1rem;"> - Gritty High IQ defender. Klekas played pesky on-ball defense, displayed quick hands, and proved to be a multiple rotation help defender. </span></li>
